January 4th, 2020.

Rosalind McAllister straightened her dress before opening the door. Her lips formed a smile when she saw the delivery man holding a bag containing her Pizza.

She handed the amount written on the bill to the boy before thanking him.

After closing the door, she walked towards the kitchen of her duplex house and placed the bag on the counter. Rosalind kept four out of the six slices on a plate and stored them in the refrigerator thinking that her parents will eat them after they come home from their tiring day of work.

That's who she was. A person who would always think of others before herself. Rosalind was the youngest daughter of the McAllister family, Derek being the oldest. Both of the siblings loved each other a lot. Her parents were always thankful for having such an angelic, perfect daughter.

Rosalind would lighten every room after walking in. She would help strangers without expecting anything in return. She was always there for her two best friends.

When her family was in financial crisis, she worked three jobs and handed all her earning to her parents without thinking twice. When Derek had hit rock bottom after breaking up with her girlfriend and not doing well with his business, she spent all her time with him, cheering him up and bringing him back on his toes. She also motivated him to start a new business which is now known as Rose Inc.

She had a very loveable boyfriend, Lenny. Rosalind adored him with all her heart. She considered herself to be the luckiest of all. Her friends weren't perfect like her. But, she still liked being around them. They were career oriented but it didn't bother her.

Rosalind went upstairs to her room with the pizza box in one hand and juice pouch in the other. She opened the doors to her enormous room which was painted in rose gold. There was a red, furry carpet which gave her a cozy feeling as she tiptoed her way to the queen sized bed.

There was a bay window couch with a yellow pastel cover and four cushions neatly placed along with a few of her plushies.

She sat on the bed and turned on the flat screen tv, pulling up her velvet comforter. She started taking small bites of her pizza, eating with manners rather then stuffing her mouth aggressively.

She giggled every now and then which was a given since she was watching her favourite show 'Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.' Rosalind was not into action or horror genres. She liked comedy and romantic.

With every bite she took, Rosalind simultaneously took a sip of her cold, refreshing orange juice.

As the time passed, she felt a burning sensation in her throat and it was not to be ignored. So, she got up to get a glass of water but her body felt numb and exhausted. Something was happening to her but she couldn't point it out.

Before she could open the door, a loud thump was heard as Rosalind lost her balance and fell down on the floor. She was coughing violently, hoping that it will settle down eventually. She could not reach her phone and even if she could, she would never call her parents as she was aware they had an important meeting today which she did not want interrupt.

Rosalind did not give up, though. She tried crawling across the room to reach phone and call 911, but her body was too weak. She could feel her heartbeat slowing down with every second and her system failing. She closed her eyes as tears started escaping her eyes. She couldn't help but think about her dream of becoming a motivational speaker as she wanted to influence people and get them to live their lives to the fullest. That was the only thing she wanted for herself, the only ONE thing. She also thought about her best friends whom she hadn't spoken heartily in a very long time. She reminisced all of her moments with Lenny, her parents and her brother.

But, without her even knowing, Rosalind's world went dark after she breathed her very last breathe.
