After the meeting, all I did was binge watch Big Bang Theory and eat. I had no idea what to do with my life. It was something that I experienced even in the city. Finally, I gave up and decided to go to sleep earlier than usual. So, I changed into my spongebob pajamas and went to bed.
I woke up to the sound of stones hitting my window. The clock indicated 1:00 am, so I had no one in mind who would want me up at this time. I knitted my brows with confusion and walked over to the window to open it.
"Where art thou, Romeo?" I asked in my raspy, sleepy voice.
"No, Val. No Romeo, it's me Brianna." A voice replied.
That's when my eyes finally adjusted to the dark and I saw Brianna wearing a red coat and black pants.
"What are you doing here?" I questioned.
"Jordan and Lenny are waiting in the car. We are going to the cemetery." She answered.
"What? Why?" My voice was now high pitched and filled with confusion.
"Stop asking questions and just get your ass down. NOW!" Brianna ordered and I closed my windows.
I knew I was going to regret going to the cemetery, but there was no way I was turning down a possible adventure. I put on my slippers and left, not bothering to comb my hair or change clothes. I tiptoed to the door, carefully taking each step as if my life depended on it.
I turned the doorknob and silently shut the door behind me. Brianna was impatiently waiting outside for me. Her lips were glossed and her face covered with foundation. Even in the middle of the night she looked like presentable. On the other hand, I looked exactly like a potato but I did not really care.
Lenny ignited the car as we got closer and Brianna and I slid into the passenger seat. Jordan scanned my from top to bottom and then his eyes met mine. I rose an eyebrow, daring him to say his thoughts out loud.
"Can somebody please explain the situation to me now?" I spoke.
"We are going to play the Ouija board near Rosalind's grave. I know it is stupid, but today when you offered it did look pretty appealing. I had a spare one in the attic and called Lenny." Brianna showed me the box. I looked at the guys who had a smirk on their faces.
"You guys actually went along?! This is nuts. Brianna I was joking about the Ouija board." I told her.
"Well, I took it seriously and now we are going to play." She defended herself. This girl amuses me sometimes.
I just sat there in silence. All of my sleepiness washed off after I found why I sneaked out of my house in the middle of the night. This will add to one of the stupid decisions I took even after having a gut feeling about it.
We parked the car somewhere safe and found Rosalind's grave. I squatted down and touched her headstone. I looked at her name written in bold and the same pain, the same guilt took over me. Lenny put a hand on my shoulder as he sat besides me. I could see Jordan struggling to come near her grave.
