Prologue

My dad and I finally settled down in our new home in London. I’ve always wanted to move here, and since my dad finally was able to get a branch here, we decided it was best to stay close to the newest one.

                We’re originally from San Francisco, California, and the weather there wasn’t all that different from here, except that it was sunnier there in San Fran. And honestly, I don’t miss it there.

                For years the thought of my mom leaving me and my dad killed me, and it wasn’t recently that I heard news that she had passed. Everything didn’t feel right anymore, so I was ecstatic when my dad told me we would be moving to the UK.

                Oddly enough, everyone thought it was odd that I still lived with my dad at the age of twenty-two, especially since we were a, well, rich family. My dad owned several business across America, and one or two in Canada as well, so I could see why people would think that I’d move out the first chance I get.

                But honestly, I couldn’t. My dad would be alone, and when mom left, he couldn’t take it. So I took the job up and cooked for my dad when he was home (which was rarely). And my dad and I were close. Whenever he was home or had days off, we would bond in some kind of way. We would go fishing, or gulfing, or just out to eat. Simple things.

                My dad wanted to bring me into the business, and he never fully explained what he wanted me to do, so I mostly did my own thing, which for most rich families meant nothing.

                My dad didn’t want me to work, so all my free time went into other things, mostly reading. There I found out about psychology, and I wanted to take that, but I knew my dad wouldn’t let me. But I’m grown up now and I’m going to make my own decisions.

                I will find my own path here in London. Somehow.

Short beginning, I know. But the next chapter will be posted in a day or so. I'll upload regularly, and hopefully things will go well :) This was also more of a background check than a prologue lol.
