This chapter is dedicated to @Christina50396 b/c she's been a supporter for as far as I can remember. She's always showing up on my notifications and I just smile that she's still here supporting me. So thank you Christina and I hope you enjoy this chapter (and the rest of this story once it's posted!)

I realized that I have developed quite a routine. In the morning I will get ready, have breakfast with my dad if he was home, get coffee from the café, then go to work.

I got ready in dark jeans and red a over sized knit sweater with gold designs on it. I didn’t think there was a dress code for my job, so I went with something comfy.

There was a knock on my door.

“Come in,” I called, pinning up some of my hair so it was out of my face. Through the mirror I could see Dexter peek his head in.

“All set and ready to go when you are.”

“Yes, yes, I’m done,” I replied, grabbing my bag and following him out the door and down the stairs.

As Dexter was driving down the road I asked him if he wanted me to get him coffee again.

“Oh, no thank you. I had some this morning. “

                “Okay.”

The drive seemed to get shorter and shorter every time, even if the distance between my house and the café was only a few minutes away from each other.

Dexter dropped me off and I walked into the café, the room less busy than the past two days. Before I walked up to the counter, I walked over a bit to see if Joe was in his usual place, observing maps and scribbling in his notebook.

                He was not.

Slight disappointment resonated through me. I was glad that he was not here, and hopefully he listened to me and got some rest, but still, I was disappointed.

Sighing, I made my way to the counter when I was blocked by a lean body with blonde hair.

“Coffee?” Joe asked me, handing me a warm cup.

“Oh, hey,” I responded, taking the cup from him. “Thanks. And I thought I said I didn’t want to see you here?”

“Well, I wanted to thank you. And I promise I did go home and I got myself a good night’s rest,” he smiled, and this time it wasn’t tired, and though he still had bags under his eyes, they weren’t as prominent.

                “I’m glad then.”

“Would you like to sit?” Joe asked, motioning towards an empty table by the window at the front of the café.

“Sure,” I smiled, walking over and taking the seat that was against the wall. I set my wallet and phone down on the table. He took a seat in front of me.

Joe was wearing a peacock colored sweater, which really brought out his blue eyes.

“So, why did you move here?” Joe asked me.
