This chapter is dedicated to @macypemberton because she spammed me with so many likes at once I was overwhelmed by it. But I love it!

We awoke the next morning in tangle of naked limbs. Joe and I were both under the white sheets, and I just wanted to stay there. But today was the day that Dexter would be leaving for America, and so I was going to see him off.

"Wake up," I said, pushing Joe.

"Mmm," he moaned. "I don't want to." He pulled me against his bare chest and started to kiss my shoulder.

"I have to see Dexter off at the airport."

Joe sighed. "Okay, let's go."

Joe and I got dressed, and drove to his apartment first to get a proper freshening up. I changed into a large oversized sweater and plain jeans. I grabbed a pair of black flats and threw my hair up into a messy ponytail. I grabbed my phone, and Joe and I drove to the airport.

"I'm going to miss him so much," I told Joe. He was driving, and we were almost there.

"Dexter is a great guy."

"I know. But it's time he spend time with his own family."

"You are part of his family."

"I know," I said. "But I've had plenty of time with him."

We arrived at the airport. Dexter was already at the front of the building with two suitcases. He was wearing his typical flight outfit: Sweats and a t-shirt.

"Dexter!" I screamed, quickly walking towards him and wrapping my arms around him. He squeezed me and gave me a pat on the back.

"I knew I would leave someday, but I just never thought it'd be so soon," Dexter told me as he pulled back and held my hands. "But I'm so glad to have seen you grow up to be such a beautiful young lady."

"Aww," I swooned. "Don't give that sappy good-bye speech Dexter. We'll see each other again. I'm thinking of making Innocent Hearts a worldwide thing," I said. I was getting too far ahead of myself, but if the foundation was successful, I would definitely franchise abroad.

"That's great Alex. I pray for the success of your new business and your new life," Dexter replied. He turned to Joe and gave him a handshake.

"You take care of Alex okay? I've spent years keeping her safe, and I want to make sure she stays safe for plenty more. Understand me young man?"

"Don't worry sir, I'll take great care of her," Joe said, looking at me and giving me a wink.

"Flight 402 to D.C. is now boarding," the intercom rang.

"Well, that's me. I'm going to have several stops before I make it to San Francisco. You guys take care," Dexter said, picking up his suitcases and walking towards the boarding gates. Before he passed through the doorway, he waved and Joe and I waved back.

I grabbed Joe by his arm and turned away. We walked slowly, not exactly sure where to go now.

"You know what I want right now?" Joe asked.

"What?"

"Coffee."

I smiled. "That sounds perfect right now."

We were at the café. It's been nearly two months since I last stepped into this place, but it still seemed the same. It was the same one I went to when I left Joe that note and the same one that I first met him at. But instead of sitting in the back where we first met, we sat at our normal table together by the window.
