Chapter 28: Another Round

Ever since Tae found out about Jin and Namjoon, he can't let it go. He's dying for them to reveal their secret romance. Tae is relentless in trying to set each of them up on pretend blind dates, hoping that they'll spill the beans. Eventually, while getting some extra choreography practice in one afternoon, Tae wears Jin down and he agrees to one of Tae's blind dates.
"So who am I meeting?" Jin asks Tae.
Tae goes on to tell Jin that she's a friend of the girls and an artist. He tells him how brilliant she is at sketch art portraits.
"She did one of me for my baby's birthday and she hung it in our living room. All of the girls have been bowling on Sundays when we aren't around" Tae tells him.
Jin just nods and listens to Tae ramble on about this great girl.
When it's just about time for the date, Jin freaks out and tells Tae that he can't go through with it.
"And why is that?!" Tae probes.
"I can't talk right now, Tae! I need to make a call and cancel this date" Jin says and steps outside of their LA rehearsal space.
"Joon!" Jin says over the phone, with panic in his voice. "I think Tae might know about us."
"Why do you think that?" Joon responds.
"Just they way he's been pressuring about these blind dates. I finally caved and agreed to one but got cold feet at the last minute and cancelled. When I cancelled, Tae had one of his shit eating grins on his face like he knew why" Jin vents to Joon.
"Jin, babe, calm down. You're getting worked up over what is probably nothing" Joon says in a soothing voice.
"I can't keep hiding us from the other guys. I don't want to hide anymore. Are you ok with telling them at our family dinner?" Jin asks.
"If that will make you happy, Jinnie, then let's tell them" Joon agrees.
"Thank you, babe! I love you and I'll see you at dinner" Jin says, feeling a huge weight lifting off his shoulders.
"Love you too. Just keep calm until then and don't let TaeTae wear you down. You got this, Jin!" Joon tries to boost Jin's confidence over the phone.
Jin, slightly flushed in the face, returns to the rehearsal room.
"So, how did you call her without her number?" Tae asks sarcastically.
"I remembered that I didn't have it once I got outside and then stayed out for a bit of fresh air" Jin says, hoping that Tae doesn't catch him in his own lie.
"Oh ok" Tae says. "Well...let's get back to rehearsal. We only have a few days for you to get this choreography perfect. Plus, it's almost time for our family dinner and I still want to shower before" Tae continues.
Jin jumps right back into rehearsal and is relieved that Tae finally drops the blind date topic.

Tae and Jin practice for another hour and then hit the showers to get ready for dinner.
As they are getting dressed, Tae notices that Jin is sweating pretty profusely.
"Jin Hyung, are you feeling ok? You don't look so good" Tae asks with concern.
"Yeah. Yeah. I'm fine, TaeTae. I'm just really hungry. Let's get to dinner" Jin insists.
"Ok Hyung. You let me know if there is anything I can do for you" Tae tells Jin.
They are the last two to arrive at dinner in the private hotel lounge.
"Finally!" Yoongi says. "I'm freakin' starving, so hurry up and order!"
"Calm down, grandpa!" Tae says and pushes Yoongi's back.
"You little shit, Tae! I would have already been in bed if we didn't have to wait for the two of you" Yoongi teases Tae.
"It was worth the wait, trust me. Jin Hyung aced the choreography and is ready for our upcoming performances. We should celebrate!" Tae says enthusiastically.

Namjoon jumps in to speak. "Yoongi, I'm sorry to make you wait but I wanted to make an announcement while all of us are together. These family dinners have come to mean so much to all of us and it doesn't feel right making big announcements if one of us are missing."
Jin rushes over to occupy the empty seat next to Joon before he makes the announcement.
Joon is normally such an eloquent speaker but starts to get tongue-tied. Jin grabs his hand underneath the table, giving him the confidence he needs to continue speaking.
"Umm...anyway...I've been seeing someone for a few months now and we felt that the time was right to tell all of you."
Tae looks at you with his eyes widened, knowing exactly what news is about to break. He squeezes your leg under the table because he can't contain his excitement.
Joon stalls for a bit again, swallowing hard, trying to find the right words.
"Seriously Joon...who the hell is it? I'm starving!" Yoongi whines.
"It's me!" Jin blurts out without thinking twice about it.
"Damn...NamJin is now a real thing" Yoongi says with a smirk on his face. "Good for you guys. I hope you're happy. I'm going to order now" Yoongi continues.
Your bestie gives Yoongi a little tap to remind him of his manners. He sometimes tends to forget them when he's hungry. She tells him that this is a big moment and it needs to be celebrated.
"We've known for a little bit now" Tae says and smiles at you.
Jin says that he had a feeling Tae knew but didn't know how.
"I wouldn't have known anything if it weren't for my baby girl. When you were going to join my VLive and then cancelled for your "drinking buddy", she heard you moaning in your room and then heard Joon's voice. She was the detective that figured it all out. She's so smart!" Tae rambles.
Joon sighs in relief now that everything is out in the open.
"Obviously, we'll still have to hide everything from ARMY, but it feels really good not to hide from you guys anymore. Jin has been dying to tell you but Tae's news came as such a surprise that I didn't think it was the right timing" Namjoon expresses to everyone.

Jungkook looks at Jimin with his big doe eyes.
"Should we tell them about us?" JK whispers.
"I'd love to tell them" Jimin smiles.
Jungkook clears his throat to regain everyone's attention.
"Since we are already celebrating some wonderful news, Jimin and I also wanted to share some news" JK says.
Namjoon cuts Jungkook off before he can speak. "Jungkook, if you are going to tell us that you and Jimin are together, you don't need to say anything. We've known about the two of you for years. You're not exactly the best at hiding it!" Joon laughs.
"What?! You knew this whole time?!" Jimin asks, completely shocked that Joon wasn't as oblivious as they had thought.
"Jimin, I'm not an idiot. Why do you think I'm always standing in between the two of you? You two can't keep your hands off of each other. Just wait until ARMY sees the hot tub scene from Bon Voyage...they're going to lose their minds" Joon continues to laugh.
Everyone else joins in laughing and celebrating the great news.
"Well...I'll bet you didn't know that we are living with her. Ha!" Jimin says in a whiny and playful tone and points to your friend.
Everyone breaks out in laughter again because everyone has known about everything going on with Jikook.
"Whatever!" Jimin whines and throws his head onto JK's shoulder, his lips pouting in frustration.
JK pats Jimin's head and then rubs his back to calm him down.

"Excuse me, miss! Could we please get another round of drinks?" Namjoon asks the waitress.
"Everyone, drinks are on Jin and I tonight. Cheers to drinking buddies, laundry buddies, married besties, and to all of the friendships in our little family. I love you guys more than anything and I'm so happy to share this life with all of you" Namjoon toasts.
"Love you too! Cheers! Now let's eat!" Yoongi says and doesn't waste any time to start eating.
"Yoongi, you can keep eating but since we're celebrating, Tae and I have something else to celebrate" you say and look at Tae to make the announcement together.
At the same time, you and Tae say "we're having a baby girl!"
Jimin squeals "I'm so excited for our first BTS baby! I can't wait to meet her! Her Jiminsamchonimnida (Uncle Jimin) is going to spoil her."
JK kisses Jimin and tells him again that he's going to be a terrific daddy one day.

Hobi has been quiet most of the dinner but finally speaks up. "I have something to add."
Yoongi kicks him under the table.
"Umm... I just wanted to toast Jin for learning the dance moves so quickly. I'm so proud of our Hyung!" he quickly changes course.
Clearly, Yoongi isn't ready to share his love life with everyone, even though Hobi is dying to tell them.
