Chapter 5: Mikrokosmos

The moon looks gorgeous over the London sky. You waited just long enough that the roar of the concert crowd has finally diminished. ARMY has finally given up on the chance of catching a glimpse of their favorite members driving off in their black sedans, so they've finally left the area. It's just you and Tae, walking hand-in-hand down the moonlit street with minimal security trailing behind you. You are able to carry on a conversation and get to know each other even better, without interruption. Tae stops abruptly, leans in to kiss you, and says that he's never felt more free and more alive than he does right now. He spins around in a childlike circle and then grabs your hands and begins to spin you around. "I've never been so happy" he yells as you both start to lose control from dizziness. You both fall onto a patch of grass and laugh uncontrollably. As the laughing starts to subside, Tae leans into you for another kiss. As he pulls away, biting on his lower lip, he locks eyes with you and whispers in his deep, sensual voice, "you have stars in your eyes and they are shining as bright as the universe. Perhaps the reason this night looks so beautiful is not because of these stars or lights, but us."
Your heart melts right then and there, not even knowing that he is reciting part of a verse to a BTS song. You feel yourself getting lost in Tae's eyes under the moonlight and star- kissed sky and quickly sit up.
"How can this be?" you think to yourself. "How can I possibly be falling for a man I just met? Am I crazy?" Tae has you questioning everything in your life right now. Out of nowhere, tears fall from your eyes, shimmering on your cheeks as the moonlight catches them. Tae notices your tears right away and sits up. "Did I do something wrong?" he asks as he gently wipes away your tears. "No...Tae..., you've done everything right. I'm just so overwhelmed with my emotions right now. I can always make sense of things but I can't make sense of how I'm feeling right now and my emotions are getting the best of me." you reply.
"What isn't making sense?" he questions.
"Everything. I thought I had my life, and the plan for my life all figured out. I got my dream job, or so I thought, right out of college. I have been fine living on my own in the States. I've missed my best friend but didn't realize how much until I got here. And then...I meet you and..." you trail off before saying something you'll regret. You want to blurt out that you're falling for this man and want to turn your world upside down for him but you don't want to get hurt if he isn't feeling the same way. It's crazy to think that anyone could have strong feelings like this in such a short amount of time.
"And...?" Tae probes. "You didn't finish. And what?"
You feel your face start to flush and you quickly look away from Tae before he can see your feelings written all over your face.
"Ahh..." he says in a low growl. "I think I know... You've fallen for me."
You can't muster up the courage to look at him and admit the truth, in fear of rejection. "How could he possibly know?" you wonder.
Tae puts his arm around you and pulls you close to him. He gently caresses your cheek and turns your face towards his. "It's ok, babe. I've fallen too." he whispers and kisses your cheek. "I know it's scary because we've only just met, but I feel so free when I'm with you. We have so much in common and I can unapologetically be myself with you. I purple you."
"Huh?" you reply with a puzzled look on your face. "You purple me?"
Tae laughs and shakes his head, forgetting that you know little to nothing about BTS.
"Yes. I purple you. Purple is the color of trust and long-lasting love because purple comes last in the rainbow." Tae says with the biggest, sweetest smile.
"Aww...I purple you, Tae" you whisper in his ear.
"Honestly..." he says, "I would have said I love you but I didn't want to scare you away or feel the pain of rejection if you weren't feeling the same way as me."
"You wouldn't have scared me away. I've never felt like this before, which is why my emotions got the best of me. I'm questioning everything in my life right now. I love my advertising job, at least, I did up until recently. I've loved being single and being able to do what I want when I have the time. But...as soon as I arrived at the airport, I realized how much I've missed this place and my best friend. And then, I met you, and I'm damn near ready to throw away my career for a chance of loving you." you say as tears well up in your eyes.
"If I weren't in a contract, I'd be saying the same thing. I'd drop everything to explore this life with you." Tae pouts.
Tae hops up, grabs your hands, and pulls you to your feet.
"Let's go have some fun. No more crying tonight. We only have a few days together. Let's have some fun tonight and figure everything out tomorrow. Besides, after concerts, I only have so much energy before I crash, so I want to be able to crash somewhere with you." Tae says very convincingly.
"Sounds perfect. Where did you have in mind because I don't have a key to my friend's flat?" you question.
"Hope has an extra room and he's always a good source of entertainment. Plus, your friend should be there with Yoongi, so you can meet them and Mickey too." Tae says as he grabs your hand and leads you to the black sedan following behind.
