Chapter 3

Sky: "Nice hat." she teases when Richard stops the elevator from closing
Richard: "Shut up."
Sky: "What are you doing here?"
Richard: "Going back to work."
Derek: "You're not cleared for surgery."
Richard: "Leave me alone. I've been sitting home for a week. Watching Oprah give away things on TV. Oprah, Derek. You clear me now or I'll hurt you."
Derek: "You should've thought about me clearing you before you gave Chief to Burke. And invited Satan to Seattle."
Richard: "Satan?" he asks as Addison walks into the elevator
Addison: "Good morning. Richard, I like the hat."
Sky: "Satan speaks."
Addison: "I prefer to be called Ruler Of All That Is Evil, but I will answer to Satan."
Sky: "You'll also answer to whore, slut, bitch..." she says trailing off
Derek: "Why is she still here?"
Richard: "I asked her to stay. We have a pediatric surgery attending on maternity leave."
Addison: "Actually, I could use you on a consult. Will you meet me up there, Sky?"
Sky: "Yeah. Fine." he says after Richard gives her a look
Addison: "See you, Richard."
Derek: "I'm not clearing you for surgery."
Richard: "Fine. I can catch up on my paperwork." he says walking out of the elevator

Woman: "Hands off me! If I report you to the chief, you'd be out on your ass. Where's the chief?" she yells in hysteria as they bring her off the elevator
Cristina: "Patient's name is...um"
Woman: "You're all amateurs!"
Cristina: "Complaining of cramping pain and diarrhea. Also suffers from-"
Woman: "Get away from me! Amateurs!"
Cristina: "Alzheimer's."
Bailey: "Patient's name?"
Cristina: "Um..."
Bailey: "Yang! The patient's name!"
Woman: "What the hell are you doing here? How many times have I told you not to bother me when I'm at work?!" she yells as Meredith bumps into Sky before going to hide behind a wall
Cristina: "Ellis Grey."
George: "Meredith's mother."
Woman: "Amateurs! You're amateurs!"

Sky: "Where's the mother?" she asks after meeting Addison in the NICU
Addison: "Gone. Stuck around long enough to get the kid strung out then took off. Nice, huh?" she says as Sky looks more through the file
Sky: "This is why you chose me and not Derek. Addison..."
Addison: "Sky, I know it's a long shot."
Sky: "You told me that you had a newborn with an invasive mass. You failed to mention she's premature, underweight and addicted to narcotics. There is no way that this baby will survive spinal surgery."
Addison: "You don't know that."
Sky: "Even if she does, she's a mess. Meningitis, seizures. She'd live a short, painful life."
Addison: "You don't know that."
Sky: "It's my job to know. I literally went into a speciality where it's my job."
Addison: "You're not God."
Sky: "Excuse me?"
Addison: "Look Skylight. I'm sorry but-"
Sky: "Don't call me that" she says snapping at the woman "You lost any and all right to call me that."
Addison: "You're not God, Dr. Rivers. If a patient has a chance, which I think she does, you have a responsibility."
Sky: "Don't talk about responsibility."
Addison: "You took an oath."
Sky: "And don't you dare talk about oaths."
Addison: "Sky, I messed up. People mess up."
Sky: "You slept with my husband. On our anniversary."
Addison: "And I am sorry for that. I am."
Sky: "And yet it didn't stop you the number of other times you slept with him did it?"
Izzie: "I'm sorry, I'm just gonna go. I'll go check on the labs." she says walking out the room
Sky: "Addison, don't do this."
Addison: "Sky. She's this fighter. Look how far she's come."
Sky: "Don't get attached and involved. Just don't make her life more painful than it already is."
Addison: "Sky, please. She has nobody. She needs someone to fight for her. You've operated on patient's worse than this I know you have."
Sky: "She's too far gone. We have to let her go. Let her go in peace."
Addison: "Fine, Sky. Walk away." she says sighing out as the woman walks out the room

Sky: "Are you ok?" she asks when Meredith comes into the room she's in and closes the door while taking a deep breath
Meredith: "I'm fine." she sighs out
Sky: "You sure? You've been through a lot these past few days. Between Derek and Addison and now your mother."
Meredith: "It's nothing."
Sky: "Well I might not know what it's like to find out your boyfriend secretly has a wife but difficult parents to deal with is something I am all to familiar with. If you ever want to talk."
Meredith: "It's ok. I can handle it." she says going to walk back out the door but is stopped
Sky: "Hey, can you do me a favor?"
Meredith: "What's that?"
Sky: "Close your eyes" she says as Meredith gives her a confusing look "Just do it."
Meredith: "Now what?" she asks after closing them
Sky: "Take a slow deep breath. In through your nose, out through your mouth" she says as Meredith does it before opening her eyes seeming a little calmed down "Sometimes taking a moment helps" she says as the two give one another a small smile "And for the record Meredith I don't think you deserve this. You seem like a good person."
Meredith: "Same goes for you." she says smiling once more before walking out the room

Izzie: "She's got a good grip." she says coming into the room to see Addison holding onto the baby's finger
Addison: "Yeah."
Izzie: "I don't think it...It doesn't look good." she says handing her a chart
Addison: "She's got a resistant strain of pneumococcus. The antibiotics aren't working. You may want to get yourself reassigned, I don't think we'll be operating today."
Izzie: "So, do you think Dr. Rivers was right?"
Addison: "She's too far gone. She does have a good grip." she says sadly

Addison: "So I'm leaving in the morning."
Richard: "No."
Addison: "Excuse me?"
Richard: "No, I'm not accepting your resignation."
Addison: "It's not a resignation, it's notification. I don't officially work for you. I came here for one case. I can track the twins' progress from New York."
Richard: "What about the preemie?"
Addison: "I'm letting it go. You know that. They call me Satan, Richard. She called me a whore."
Richard: "You don't like to hide from a fight."
Addison: "No fight. They win. I'm leaving in the morning."

Richard: "Good, there you are. Look, I need you to do a needle biopsy." he says coming over to where Sky is sitting at the ER desk
Sky: "We just became swamped. I don't have the time."
Richard: "No, I need you to do a needle biopsy now."
Sky: "Chief, now is not the time. Can't you find someone else?"
Richard: "I am not in the mood for a debate. You understand? You'll do it because I asked you to. Because I need you to. It's Ellis Grey." he says as he gives her a pleading look
Sky: "Do you guys think that if you give me this sad, pleading look that I'll just do whatever it is you asked for? What you think that because you confided in me one night in surgery about your little affair that I somehow have to help you keep your secret."
Richard: "You're letting Addison get to you."
Sky: "She already got to me Richard. And I tried to move on but you brought her her. You brought her here and then you expect this pain to not be there. You expect me to be fine with her. There are a million other doctors in this hospital. Find someone else." she says walking away

Sky: "I need you to do me a favor." she says walking over to where Derek is standing in the hallway looking out the window
Derek: "I'm not really in the mood."
Sky: "Addison's preemie's case. Mind taking a look at it for me."
Derek: "Why me?"
Sky: "Because as much as I don't want to admit it, I'm letting my personal issues cloud my judgment. I just want to make sure that this baby doesn't die when there was something we could have done. If it's too much for you I understand."
Derek: "No I got it. I'll check it out."
Sky: "Thanks." she smiles at him slightly before walking away

Addison: "Look at that. BP's stabilizing." She says smiling seeing Derek in the room
Derek: "Well, she's stronger than what Sky said she was this morning. There's no reason in the world why she should be stronger since this morning."
Addison: "She's really beautiful, isn't she?"
Derek: "Tell you what. If she makes it through the night and she has a little bit more strength, we'll operate."
Addison: "You know, the way I see it, we could deal with us in one of three ways. Option one, I could apologize, you could forgive me and come home and we could move on with our lives like adults. Or, option two, I could apologize, you could forgive me, come home, but you can still bring it up to use against me whenever we argue."
Derek: "Are you trying to be funny?"
Addison: "Satan has a sense of humor."
Derek: "What's the third?"
Addison: "I don't know what the third option is" she says kissing him just as Sky walks past and sees them making her freeze before walking away "I just know I still love you."

Meredith: "I don't want to do it anymore." Sky hears as she walks out of the hospital seeing Meredith kiss Derek before walking away from him
Sky: "Wow. Two women in one day."
Derek: "You saw that?"
Sky: "Yep."
Derek: "And the thing with Addison?"
Sky: "Yeah" she says as he sighs "Do you know what you're doing?"
Derek: "Not a clue."
Sky: "Wanna get some food? Figured I'd need something to go with the large amount of alcohol I'm going to be consuming tonight."Derek: "Yeah come on, let's go." he says as they head to her car
