Fresh from a divorce from Plastic Surgeon Mark Sloan, Sky Rivers finds a new start at Seattle Grace Memorial Hospital. But the past eventually catches up.

Sky: "What are you doing here?" she asks opening her door to see Derek standing there and watching as he walks into the apartment
Derek: "Well I figured we were both going to be grinches this year...and I was right." he says looking around the place to see no Christmas decorations
Sky: "I'm not a grinch. I love the holiday seasons. I can just picture all the trauma cases that will be coming in." she says smiling to herself
Derek: "You know some people would think of you as crazy and creepy right."
Sky: "I don't care" she says shrugging her shoulders and grabbing her bag as they head to the door "I live for days like these."

Mother: "You should have a dog."
Man: "No dog."
Mother: "Come on, get a dog." they hear overlapping voices once as they walk into a patient's room where her family is surrounding her
George: "Nadia Shelton, 41, scheduled for excision of her gastric ulcer."
Mother: "Lot of good it's done. She's been scheduled for three days."
Nadia: "Mom, it's not her fault."
Man: "Every day she gets rescheduled for emergencies."
Sky: "We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Mother: "lnconvenience? Watch your child spend 3 days in pain, then talk to me about inconvenience."
Sky: "We get a lot of trauma cases during the holidays. Your daughter's ulcer is non-emergent."
Father: "Is that the news?"
Man: "Are you saying my wife's not important? Is that what she's saying? Is that what I hear?"
Mother: "When are you taking her?"
Father: "It's not the remote."
Mother: "We have reservations to eat at the Space Needle. We've had 'em for months." they all overlap making Sky bite the inside of the lip before speaking up
Sky: "All right! O'Malley prep Mrs. Shelton for her ulcer excision, which will happen this morning."
Mother: "Thank you! Ernie, I'm so happy! We're gonna go to the Needle!" she sings out as everyone except for George walks out the room

Richard: "Anxiety attacks, aneurysms and ulcers." he says when Sky comes over to where he's standing at the OR board
Sky: "I know. The month of December never fails me." she says smiling a little
Patricia: "Chief, Adele just called."
Richard: "Tell her I'm-"
Patricia: "She knows you're not in surgery. And she said to tell you, quote, "We are going to our niece's school pageant this morning." "You have known about it for months." "After what you pulled on Thanksgiving" Then she started using many words that I don't feel comfortable repeating." she says making Sky chuckle a little to herself as she looks at the face Richard makes
