Chapter 11
Callie: "You know Shepherd pretty well?" she asks catching up to Sky as she walks down the hall
Sky: "Lots of hair, too many women, likes elevators and walks on the beach." she says semi-joking and semi-serious
Callie: "What's the best way to get him to do something?"
Sky: "What kind of something?"
Callie: "A consult that the patient hasn't requested, but that the friendly neighborhood Ortho resident thinks is worth pursuing."
Sky: "Shepherd thinks he's busier and more important than everyone else."
Callie: "Standard neurosurgeon breed."
Sky: "Exactly."
Callie: "Ok, so?"
Sky: "So he'll say no. Until you stare him down."
Callie: "Stare him down?"
Sky: "Stare him down." she says as she stares Callie down making her uncomfortable and walk away and Sky smirks to herself before continuing on her walk
Callie
Callie: "Dr. Shepherd. I'm so sorry to bother you" she says running up to him and stopping in front of him "I know you're very busy, but there's a girl here with scoliosis from VATER syndrome. She's here because her ribs are pressing against her lungs. She's had two spinal fusions and a spinal instrumentation that didn't work. She's bent over 90 degrees, which clearly sucks."
Derek: "Clearly sucks? Is that your professional assessment?"
Callie: "My professional assessment is that we can help her."
Derek: "My day's impossible" he says, going to walk forward only for her to stop her and stare at him "I'll come by for a consult in the morning."
Callie: "I'm a good starer." she says proudly to herself
➿
Alex: "Bone dry cappuccino." he says handing the coffee to Mark as he walks down the halls while coughing
Mark: "At least something's dry. Does it ever stop raining in this hell hole?"
Alex: "Not really."
Mark: "Great. Good to know" he says taking a sip out of his cup before grimacing "What the hell is this, Karev, vanilla? Are you trying to poison me or just trying to make my day worse?"
Sky: "Mark!"
Alex: "Coffee cart must've screwed up."
Mark: "If you can't handle coffee, you can't handle plastics. Maybe you ought to head back to the gynie squad where life was all squishy and pink." he says pointing to Addison at the end of the hall before pushing the cup into Alex's chest making him walk away
Sky: "I know being a jackass is part of your personality but you've been more of a dick these past few days so what the hell is wrong with you?"
Mark: "None of your business."
Sky: "When you terrorize the students over something as simple as a coffee order you kind of make it everybody's business." she says grabbing her folders and walking away from him
➿
Sky: "Preston." she says stopping herself from walking past his room
Burke: "Sky."
Sky: "How you feeling?"
Burke: "Better. I'm looking forward to going home."
Sky: "Well, I'm sure Dr. Yang is looking forward to having you back there, as well."
