“Excellent. Now I will call him to inform him about his new family” he said with a creepy smile while picking up the phone.
As he hung the phone he said, “Okay Hope, he should be here any minute now.”
Oh fuck! What do I say? Ugh! Brent will now never ever leave me!!
“Yes Mr. Principle. What did I do this time?” Brent said as he entered the room.
“Please sit down Mr. Rivera.” The principle said as he gestured him to sit in the empty chair next to me.
“Hope? What brings you here? I thought you were Ms. Goody-two-shoes.” Brent said as we locked eyes.
I was about to respond when the principle stopped me.
“Okay Brent. So since you didn’t sign up for any club, you are automatically in the Environmental Club. With Mr. Sanders, the president of the club.”
“Wait what? The whole reason why I didn’t sign up was so I wouldn’t be in any stupid club. Oh and no offense.”
“None taken.” What a fucking asswhole.
“I’m sorry Brent but rules are rules, and one being that every student must be in a school club.”
“Well damn me. What a stupid rule.”
CAN HE STOP BEING A DAMN IDIOT FOR ONCE SO HE DOESN’T RUIN THIS FOR ME???
“Well it might be stupid, but you have no choice. Either join her club or you will suffer the consequences.”
“I mean if I really don’t have a choice then what’s the point of saying no.”
“Thank you sir. Now Ms. Sanders, when will the meeting be?” The principle asked.
“Umm…” I cleared my throat, “Uhh… They will be every Wednesday, after school.” I say looking down.
“Great. We will see then Mr. Rivera.”
“Sadly you will.”
I hate him.
“You both can go back to class now.”
I once again basically ran out of the room so he wouldn’t catch up to me.
“Wait Hope!”
I kept walking. Or basically running.
“Hope!”
Don’t stop or look.
“God damn it Hope!” he said as he grabbed my arm.
“You know, Brent, I didn’t ask for you to be in my club okay. I was basically forced to. And if I wouldn’t have taken you, my club would’ve been canceled, and I know it matters little to you, but it matters a lot to me. This club will decide my future, so if I were you I would just show up and do nothing, thank you.” I say as I pull my arm away from his grasp and begin to walk away.
“Wait Hope! This time I will have the last word!”
“Okay? Go ahead! I don’t care anyways!” and with that I walked away and towards my classroom door.
“fuck” I lightly heard him say.
