Chapter 4: Sleep Ailments

As of late, I had been suffering some odd sleeping ailments. I was lacking sleep from having nightmares of being chased by large dark shadows in my sleep.

I inferred that my recalling of my traumatic memories a few days ago brought upon my current nightmares.

"Lady Lilian, what are you doing outside?" Miss Koran my personal female guard asked.

The statement woke me up. I found myself sitting in the middle of the garden in three middle of the night.

"...Ah, I was basking in the moonlight," I said.

"Let me escort you back," Miss Koran said as she led me the way back to my room.

I watched her long cerulean colored hair sway in front of me as she led me back to my room. I suddenly grew tired again and fell to the ground.

"Lady Lilian!" Miss Koran shouted in a fluster.

I could no longer keep my consciousness up and fainted.

When I woke up, morning had already come and a few Doctors were standing beside me.

"Good morning, Lady Lilian," a young male Doctor with long green hair and circle lenses said. "I am Doctor Morley. Can I ask how you are feeling?"

"...A little drowsy," I answered.

"It is probably a side effect of working too much. It seems like you are lacking sleep as well. Are you unable to sleep at night?" Doctor Morley asked.

"...I get around one to two hours of sleep a day I think," I said.

"I will prescribe some sleeping medicine and some vitamin supplements. You must stay away from work for a few days. This is the Doctor's orders," Doctor Morley said.

I nodded slightly.

For the next few days, I was released from my work, so I spent my time rather leisurely like any normal Noblewoman. On top of that, my lover was hard at work of keeping the capital safe behind the scenes. I had not been able to see him since our last date.

Listening to the Doctor did not seem to better my symptoms at all.

"Lady Lilian!" Miss Koran said as she shook me at night the next day.

I soon found myself outside of my room and holding onto Miss Koran's arms in the middle of night.

"Miss Koran?" I said dazedly. "What are you doing here?"

"You fainted on your way to your room...Are you alright?" Miss Koran asked worriedly.

I decided to finally confess to her that I had was suffering from long nightmares. Miss Koran listened to me carefully and told me that I could sleep without worry with her by my side. I accepted only on the condition this she would find some time to rest later.

I finally found the source of my nightmares when the shadow revealed herself as Elze Kruger.

Elze Kruger was originally the main heroine of the novel this world is set in. Unfortunately, the person who transmigrated into her body was a serial killer who went around killing young blondes with magic concoctions called potions and was a former stalker of mine. She kidnapped me and tried to force me to become her bride with a gender-swapping potion she created.

I put an end to her reign of terror.

I condemned her with the most taboo act of all...I accused her of being a Witch. As a result, she was finally brought to justice and executed for all of her crimes. Indirectly, I was also the one who killed her and took her place beside the man who killed her Sheze Chaldean.
