The enemy he once fought

Gone. You were gone and he could never get you back. How did he always manage to mess things up. His eyes leaked like a waterfall.

He felt like he had nothing else, just an empty heart. Rin looked at him, "Lord Sessho-"

Jaken placed his staff in front of her, she turned to the goblin confused. Jaken only shook his head also sad for his Lord.

Rin went to attend to A-Un instead and leave her Lord be.

Inuyasha sat inside the hut, arms folded watching the sleeping Kagome. She was breathing fairly well now unlike before where it was short paced.

He really hadn't sorted out his own affairs with the two girls. But an uneasy feeling set like a stone in his gut. He also wondered how his brother was holding up. Kagome surely would be relieved that (Y/n) was free of the cold demon.

A sound that made Inuyasha's eyes widened carried across the sky. A sadistic laugh filled with malice.

Inuyasha rushed out to see a man crash down on the grass. Sweeping up dust and creating a hole in the ground.

The dog demon cracked his knuckles,  "why are you here? I thought Sesshomaru was who you'd be looking for."

He cackled, black talons on his fingertips clicked together as his reptile-like tail swished about.

He flashed toothy smile, "I was looking for the reincarnation of Akemi, last I saw she was here. So where is the girl?"

"For one she's not here she's in a safe place, a place you can't reach her!"

The demons clear pupils slid to the bone eaters well. "I see, so she's returned to her time." He chewed on a single talon.

"All I have to do is get her to come back. That shouldn't be too hard."

A growl travelled through Inuyasha, "there's no way your going to achieve that."

Jin ruffled his wings, his eyes locked onto the dog. "You weren't around me when I battled Sesshomaru I achieved plenty before he sealed me in the stupid lake!"

A smell pierced Jin's nose it was Sesshomaru's scent. A devilish grin appeared. A certain cold hearted dog was sad.

Jin rolled his shoulders, "I need to pay your brother a visit." Inuyasha threw an attack at him but Jin unsheathed sword.

Slashing Inuyahsa across the chest, sending him flying towards the hut. The wall of the small building caved in as Inuyasha slammed into it.

Kagome woke up with a jolt, sweating profoundly.

"Goodbye."

You were encased in your creamy blankets. Suppressing the tears. All of you was shuddering with the effort of trying not to bawl. Your mum knocked on the door several times.

Expressing quite angrily that you come out for dinner. You heard as her feet stomped back to the spitting spaghetti.

10mins later another rapping on your  door sounded. "Mum I told you I'm not hungry!"

A soft click and a creaking registered in your ears. She'd opened the door.

A sudden anger bubbling, you gripped  your pillow and spun your and to get a direct hit with the pillow.

The intended target was hit but at the wrong person. "Oh! Sorry dad." You scrambled from your sheets and helped him balanced as he wobbled a little.

He leaned on the wall for support, "you used to do that as a child when you threw tantrums."

He walked over to your bed and sat down, patting the mattress. You shyly sat beside him.

His tone became caring, "now...why are you here?"

Your head whipped to him when he asked, "w-what this is my home?!"

He gave a soft chuckle, "no sweetie I mean why have you come back? You love this man after all."

A blush crept across your features, "I don't!"

"You do. I'm not dense kiddo you haven't been this troublesome for a while." He said with a mischievous wink.

You sighed, "I suppose also I didn't realise I was troublesome."

He extended an arm around your  shoulders, bringing you in for a hug.

"That's just part of you being our daughter."

A smile stretched on your lips but it didn't crinkle your eyes as your dad knew meant it was genuine.

"What happened?"

Your voice trembled as you spoke, "he didn't love me, he loved someone who was like me."

Your dad wiped away the water falling from your sockets. "So I understand more, what do you mean?"

"A reincarnation, I don't know the full story but she died and I'm her reincarnation."

"Ah."

He brushed a few strands of loose hair behind your ears. "Dad..."

"Yes (Y/n)?"

"I don't know what to do!"

Then the tears spilled, he let you cry as the sobs made the weight of the world feel like it came crashing down. The red organ inside beat with such ferocity for this pain to end and to be reunited with the one you loved.

But he hurt you in a way that seemed irredeemable. He waited years for you to come, knew of your existence before you knew of his.

Why should you grant his wishes when he wouldn't respect your own? As you breathed you managed a few words.

"He didn't love me.."

Finally your dad spoke, " did you ever think that maybe it wasn't necessarily you being a reincarnation that he loved you but you cured his loneliness?"

No you hadn't but how did that excuse anything? As if he could read your thoughts he said, "Yes it may not make whag he's done acceptable but you stood by him when no one else did, like you did for me."

"Dad that was different!"

He shook his head, "only the situation, yes I did not do anything wrong and you agrued the point with my boss. But you still stuck with after all the extreme stuff he did, so why not give him chance now?"

"Dad..."

He always made sense of problems and made you look silly. But because his advice was right majority of the time.

"I'll consider seeing him."

He ruffled you (h/c) hair, you swiped his hand away. "Good girl, now come down for tea before your mother kills me with her nagging."

A real smile crinkled your eyes.

Sesshomaru bared his fangs, wanting to slice Jin's throat.

The reptile lurked in the shadows, the firelight dancing on parts of his skin. "I thought you'd be happy to see me...Sesshomaru."
