Left photo human form, right photo true form.
She never knew her parents, being one of the many last among her kind. She took great caution in her safety, choosing not to socialize with others.
Disguising herself as a human she lived among people, yet the villagers knew she was a demon because of her cat ears. In her true form they were longer as she was a rabbit demon. Not a cat. They were just shorter for an unknown reason.
Every night in her hut she performed a ritual to contact the dead. Holding a mirror on her lap her skin changed to fur, her ears extended and her nose shortened.
She spoke fluently and very uptight, "spirits I call to thee, grant me your powers of protection, spells of safety and allow me to write my own destiny."
Unnatural sounds whispered in her ears. She opened her (e/c) irises and was met with an unfamiliar figure standing before her.
Raven hair flowing down to his shoulders. Black talons where fingernails usually were. Big, feathery wings arching from his shoulder blades. A scaly tail swishing back and forth, a smile with two long fangs and those clear, blue pupils.
"What have you summoned me for?"
Akemi was not intimated by this man, "I have asked of you to extend me the safety of my people."
He nodded. "That I can give you but you know it comes with a price?"
She also nodded.
"What is your name?"
"Akemi, and yours?"
"Jin."
She held out her palm, "is the price my soul or blood?"
He shook his head, "no it's only my heart. You made a blind contract to be my servant when you summoned me."
She scowled, " I'll not be forced to do your bidding. You are Jin a half-demon. Father a dragon and mother a human. I know of what you instill upon your subjects. That I will not partake in!"
She blew out all the candles and smashed the mirror. His face remained in the shattered shards.
"You are to be mine!" His detached voice whispered all around.
"I end thy deal."
Akemi cleaned all the broken pieces and tossed them into the fire. Not realising she had once again summoned him.
The sun rose signifying morning was here at last. Everyone got to there usual chores. Akemi pitched in her strength helping a great much.
"I'm so glad you decided to live here Akemi." Her friend said. Henry.
His chocolate eyes welcomed her with a wonderful warmth. "I'm glad I met you Henry."
Her voice sent him on cloud nine. The human male had fallen for the rabbit.
