Part four
Warning: a bit of blood and murder
Y/n's pov
"That would be great but... Monty, we don't know anything about places outtsife of what we've seen. Plus we aren't used to the circumstances to over there. " I say, staring back into his silver eyes. " So? We can explore! Besides, Mom would expect us to be close by, wouldn't she? " Montag argues, " Think of what we'd discover! What new things we could try!" . Monty finishes by moving his arms around. " Y/n, I know our whole lives have been here. But we could use a clean slate. Please? " Monty begs with puppy dog eyes. " God, you know I hate those eyes." I says, closing mine. "Please?" Montag continues. " Fine! But we have to keep earning money so that we can actually survive down there. " I say, giving in. Montag celebrates. I roll my eyes and fall back on the bed. " I knew you couldn't resist!" He says. I stick my tongue out and grab my bag. "Let's go." I say. Montag grabs his bag and follows me out the door. He practically skips as we walk over to the horses we stole last contract. We both get on the horses and Monty leads the way.
Timeskip brought to you by Lucio curling up with the hounds
When we get to the house, it's dark. Everything inside was pitch black. We get off the horses as we approach the house. Everything was quiet and eerie. I hand my horse's reins over to Lucio as he ties them up. I grab my dagger and open the door. Lucio walks in, carefully and quietly. Heart pounding from excitement, I enter after him. "You want upstairs or downstairs?" I whisper to him. "Down." He answers back. I nod and slowly go up the stairs case to our right. I move around the stair case, making as little noise as possible. I see a man sleeping in a room with a women curled up at his side. I continue making my way down the hall to see two other rooms each with someone sleeping. I tip toe back to the first room and lean on the doorway. They both look so peaceful and happy. A gleam of light reflects off of the women's hand. I squint my eyes to see a ring on her hand. "Would you want something like that one day?" I hear a voice whisper behind me. I flip around, knife at their throat. Montag look back at me. I sigh in relief and take the dagger off him. "What do you mean?" I whisper back. I see him blush slightly in the moonlight. "I mean... Settle down. Have a family. Stuff like that." He explains. " I don't know. With Morga chasing us, I don't think I could let anything like that happen until I know they'd be safe." I answer, " Either way, I'd need to meet the right person to be happy to have a family with.". Lucio opens his mouth to continue until we see the man move. We both grab our knives to see the man twist around to face the woman, still asleep. We both exhale the breath we were holding and move to the side of the bed. "Who are we supposed to take out?" I whisper . "The whole family." He answers. I nod and move to the women's side of the bed. I raise the knife to her throat and slice it. He does the same as the man's eyes open. He brings his hands up to fight back as they fall back. His eyes roll back. "Do we have to take out the kids?" I ask. "I don't know if it's be better to leave them or not." He shrugs. I think for a moment and cover my face. I close the parents' door. "Follow me." I whisper to him, covering his face. I walk down the hall and knock loudly on one of the wooden walls. Both of the kids walk out. "Mom dad wha-" the boy begins. When he sees us, his eyes widen. The girl comes out of the second room and races over to her brother. "W-who are you?" The girl asks, pushing her brother behind her. " You don't need to know that. All that you need to know is to go into town and get out as soon as possible. Don't come back. As soon as you get some supplies, leave that town and run. There's a man looking to kill your family. " I explain. The boy's eyes weld up with tears. " Why a-are you telling us this? And where are our parents? " The girl asks, tears already flowing down her cheeks. " Because. We don't see a point in letting two young lives getting snuffed out. " I answer. " Where are our parents? " The boy yells, crying. "Do as we say! We know you shouldn't trust us, but you need to leave. " Monty cuts in. The children run into their rooms and grab things. "Don't let them leave yet. " I say and walk into the parents room. The two bodies lay in the darkness. It would seem as though they were asleep except for the lines of red on their throats and puddles of red on the sheets. I grab the rings off of their hands and walk back out. The girl and boy are hugging each other as they stare at Lucio and me. I slowly approach them. They both move back slightly in fear. "It's ok." I kneel down, " Here.". I hand them both a ring. "We will give you a ride into town. You can stay with us tonight. And then you leave the next day. Deal? " I ask. They both nod. I stand up as I lead them out the door." Did you kill them?" The girl asks, as I bring my horse over. Monty and I exchange a glance. "Get on." I say, straddling my horse. The girl nods and climbs on." Do you want us to wait? " I ask. Lucio shakes his head. " No, go on. We'll catch up." He says. I snap the reins as he horse begins to increase speed. "Did you?" The meek voice asks again. "Do you really want to know?" I ask, looking back. The young girl nods. " Yes. We were sent to kill them for a contract. But it was a quick death and neither suffered. It may be horrible, but my partner and I need money to survive too. " I say. The girl looks down. " I feel terrible, you know." I break the silence. The girl doesn't respond. We ride back into town and we sneak them into our room. They both sit on the bed, still a bit skittery. " The bathroom is over there. Just... Don't try to sneak out." I say. They both nod. I sigh and turn to Lucio. " What now? " I whisper. He shrugs. " This was your plan. " He whispers back. I roll my eyes. " Thanks for your help. " I facepalm. He smirks. "Of course. " he says. I turn away. " I'm going to go get a drink. " I say. " I'll join. " Lucio says. " No. You watch them. " I point to the two kids, " Besides, good things happen when I get a drink. ". He huffs and sit down. I walk out and down the hall and turn into the bar area. I reach the counter and ask for two shots. The bartender nods and hands me the shots. I take one and leave the glass. I walk back to the room. Lucio is sitting in the chair. The children are curled up and sleeping lightly. I hand Lucio the shot and he takes it happily. "Thanks." He says. "You ok?" I ask, sitting next to him. "Yeah." He answers. "They'll be gone by tommorow. " I say, yawning. Lucio guides my head to his shoulder. I look up at him. "Sleep. I can take over watching them." He says, smiling. I smile and wrap my arms around him. " Thank you. " I says. His calm breaths, a lullaby to sleep.
Montag's pov
I move a small piece of hair from her face. Her light snores make me smile. I look over at the kids. ' Maybe our lives could be like this. ' I think to myself. But then I remembered her comment of meeting the right guy. 'Does she not think of me as the right guy? ' I think to myself. I look back down at her. She smiles even in her sleep.
Timeskip brought to you by Lucio trying to impress MC by pole dancing
Y/n slowly wakes up and yawns. I smile as she look at me. "Hey." She says. "Hey." I reply. "What time is it?" She asks. God, why does she have to be so perfect? " It's about noon." I answer. She slowly gets up and stretches. I smirk at her. "Wha-" she interrupts herself with a yawn. I laugh a little. "Shush." She says, smiling. She walks over to the children, hips moving slightly. " Time to get up." She says. The two kids stretch and move away from her. She moves back. "Do you wanna check out in the bar area for the guy?" She asks me. I nod and stand up to stretch. I walk out the door to be greeted by the man who gave us the contract. "Hello. How's the contract going?" He asks. "It's j-just fine! Why are you back so soon? Don't we have a day left? " I ask as confidently as possible. " Yes, just wanted to check up." He says. I nod and smile. Y/n walks out. " Hello. " She says. " I assume your partner? " The man asks. I nod. " Don't we have a day left? " She asks. He nods." He just wanted to check up on it." I explain. She nods. " I went out to go and check on the house to see the people one last time." He starts, " And I was delighted to see the two parents dead. However where are the kids? ". I gulp. " W-we didn't see any kids! " Y/n stalls. The man nods. " Thank you for telling me. I'll ask you that if you see them, you will kill them. " He says. " Yes, sir! " I say. He walks off. " Grab the kids." She whispers to me, " Meet me outside the window then. " . I nod. I rush out the door, trying to avoid the man's sight. I run to the stables and untie the reins. I lead them to Lucio and my room. The two kids crawl out first and Lucio follows. "Did you get everything?" I ask. He nods and hands me my pack. We get the kids on the horses. "I'll be back." I say, " I'll meet you guys at the edge of town.". Lucio nods, worry in his eyes. He grabs my hand and pulls me into a kiss. I kiss back and then turn away. I walk back into the bar of the tavern. The man sits at the counter. "Now that the contract is done, can we have our payment?" I ask. "Oh, y/n! Of course. When you guys are done. " He says. " We are. We killed who you wanted us to. The kids weren't in the contract. " I say. " Yes they were. Any one who was in the house and I doubt they were out and about by themselves. " The man says, " Of course there's other ways you could get the money from me~. " The man says, smirking. He grabs my waist as he kisses me roughly. I pull back. " How about we take this... Elsewhere?" I ask. He nods and grabs my hand as I lead him to Lucio and my room. When we get to the door he opens it and pushes me onto the bed. "Where were we?" He asks, pinning me down and kissing me again. I could taste the alcohol. I take my hands down his body and grab my knife. I stab him and he falls back. "How dare you!" He shouts. I throw my knife and hit him in the chest as he falls to the ground. I grab the coins from his pocket. "Thank you for your business." I say, grabbing my knife. I race out the window. I hear a scream from a maid as I sprint to the meeting place for Lucio and I.
