A/n: This was requested by @Worldatpeace. I wanted to get started on this as soon as possible because I was so excited to write this. Thank you so much for this challenge and hope you like the first part so far. Onto the story!

Part one

Y/n's pov

I glance out the carriage's window as I ride through the deep woods. The deep forest greens surround me as I take in the area. It felt just like yesterday that I had left this place. Vesuvia must have changed at least a small bit since I had left five years ago. I feel nervous to return, however. After hearing the rumor that the Countess ,Nadia, had left, I was anxious to see how it turned out. Asra and Muriel had left on a trip and decided to move there. And Portia and Ilya have been traveling the seas. I didn't know why I was coming back to Vesuvia, I just knew something was pulling me back. With all of my friends moved away, I had no idea what was worth the trip. But I was drawn to the idea of coming back. That's what pushed me into the decision to take the carriage back to the only true home I had ever known. I feel a slight tap on my shoulder that pulls me out of my thoughts and back into reality. " Madam?" The driver asks. " Are we here already?" I ask. The man nods and gestures towards the city's entrance. " Welcome to Vesuvia." He exclaims. I glance back at him. " Thank you very much. But this isn't my first time here. " I drop a few coins into his hand and brush my clothes off. He hands me my things and I walk into Vesuvia, both excited and dreading what I may see.
