Part two

Y/n's pov

Lucio and I both jump back at this. " Valdemar!" Lucio says, when he regains his composer. Lucio throws he's arms out as he walks over. Valdemar looks at him as Lucio begins to talk. " This is Y/n, an old friend of mine. " Lucio says. Valdemar shifts his focus over to me. " Fascinating. I assume you're here for the masquerade. " Valdemar inquires, bending down to eye level. I move back a bit. " Yes. Lucio invited me to stay for a month while we get reacquired." I answer. Valdemar closes his eyes as he stands back up (A/n: Ok! I'm sorry but every single time Val does this it just reminds me of an UwU face.).  " If only you could have seen it during the good days." He says, smiling. I look at him, waiting for an explanation.  " A sickness had spread and had almost taken out most of the population. It was a glorious time for science." Valdemar ended with a content sigh. I look over to Lucio as he just smiles with a shrug. Valdemar circles me. I move my head, trying to follow him. " Strange. Very strange. " He says when he get back to the front. I look at Lucio as he walks over. " She's not sick." Valdemar says, almost disappointed. Lucio rolls his eyes at this. " Of course not. We just wanted to meet you. " Lucio says, hand on hip. Valdemar looks at me and then over to Monty. He closes his eyes again. (UwU) . I wait for anything to happen. " Welcome to Vesusvia. And if you want to help me with any work you're welcome to. But only if you have a strong stomach." Valdemar breaks the silence with a smile showing sharp teeth. " Good day. " He says, leaving the room with his shoes making a twap twap twap sound.  I look at Monty with wide eyes. " Ok. Is it sad that that wasn't the most awkward moment I've been in?" I ask, with a small laugh. Lucio looks at me with a weird face. " Really? He just looked you over and said hi." Lucio exclaims. " Yeah. Your point?" I say with a small smile. " What the actual fuck?" Lucio says with a laugh. I shrug at him. " Ok. We might be able to meet up with Vlastomil, Vulgora, and Volta." he says. I glance over at him. " I have another but he's out on a trip. I've forgotten what for." Lucio mutters off. I roll my eyes as I start back up the stairs. Lucio walks behind me as we emerge in the bright light. I stop as I feel a  hand drag me back. " Meet you there!" Lucio says as he races in front of me. I let out a laugh as I race towards him. Lucio dart away as he turns down a hall. I slid a bit down the hallway as I turn. I giggle as  I dash towards him. Lucio turns and stops in front of a room to catch his breath. "You dick." I say, laughing as I come to a stop.  Lucio just laugh as he opens the door. I follow him through as I see two strange people in this parlor. One a short cream colored girl with one white eye eating something and a shaking pale man.  Both look up and smile as they see Lucio. " Count Lucio! What a pleasant surprise!" the shaking one says. The girl waves and continues eating. Lucio just smiles at me.  " These are some of my trusted courtiers, Vlastomil and Volta.  " Lucio says. I wave as Lucio continues. " Where's Vulgora?" Montag asks them. " chasing the servant for sneezing near them.  " Volta pipes in. I look over at them, confuzzled. " Vulgora has... anger issues." Vlastomil says. " Do not!" I hear a voice from the door way yell. A woman walks in. " This is Vulgora. Did you get the servant?"  Lucio asks. Vulgora shows a smile of sharp fangs. " Oh yes." she says as I back away a little.  Lucio looks over and laughs. " This is Y/n. She's an old friend."  Lucio says. Vulgora looks me up and down. " She doesn't look like she could do any damage."  she says, folding her arms. Lucio stops her there as I raise an eyebrow. " She used to work with me. When I was a mercenary and all that." Lucio interrupts her. (A little reference to a request I got a little bit ago just so that you know I remember it and will work on it soon -3- ) nod. I just haven't been fighting for a few years. I glare at her for the moments of silence. " Where's Valerius?"  Lucio asks. " My count, don't you remember? He went on that wine tasting trip before the masquerade. " Volta says.  " Ah. You'll just have to meet him at the masquerade I guess." Lucio says, shrugging. I nod. " Either way, there are plenty of things you can do until then." Lucio says, " Have you ever tried pumpkin bread?" he asks. " No, I haven't." I admit.

The night before the masquerade I laid in my bed, waiting for sleep. My eyes start to close as I hear the sound of hooves against the stone. I get up and walk over to the window as the horses come to a halt.  I look out the window as I see Lucio talk to a man who walks out. The sound of their laughter echos against the walls. Lucio and the mysterious man in the cloak walk through the large door, Lucio blocking the man from view. I walk over to my door as I contemplate whether to go and meet the man or not.  I decide not to as I go and curl back up in bed. " I'll get meet him tomorrow at the masquerade anyways. " I think to myself as I slowly fall asleep.
