~A week later~

I sit on my bed reading something as Hoshi and Raven play a game on our tv. Zero was busy talking to Tai about something, Aika and Summer were painting each other nails, and Qrow was laying across my bed, his feet flat on the ground. I used my wings as a blanket as I read, Qrow let out a sigh, "you guys wanna do something fun? It's not that I don't enjoy hanging out in here...considering the view" he spoke as I glanced up and saw he was staring at me. I rolled my eyes, "keep dreaming..." I spoke, "one day" he spoke chuckling. "Like what brother?" Raven spoke without looking up from her game, "something! I'm so bored" he spoke as Aika gasped, "let's go to the beach! It's the weekend and perfect weather for the beach" Aika spoke as I continued to read, "good idea!" Zero spoke, "you guys have fun..." I said as Qrow took my book, "you're coming with us" he spoke as I glared at him, "If water gets on my wings then I won't be able to fly until they're dry...plus..." I trailed off and they all looked at me, "I-I never learned how to swim..." I whispered as Tai snorted causing Summer to throw a pillow at him. "My parents didn't teach me before they died..." I whispered as I ran my fingers over the scar on my right eye that I got the night my parents died. "Where'd you get that?" Qrow asked as I looked at him, "from the man who killed my parents..." I whispered as Hoshi sighed, "well, if it makes you feel any better...Aika and I lost our parents as well" Hoshi spoke as I looked at her.

"I'm not sure how that's supposed to make me feel better" I spoke causing her to laugh, I sighed, "I suppose if I have to go to the beach with you guys...I will" I said, "yeah! Come make memories with your new family!" Aika spoke as she walked over to me and held out her hand. I looked at her and smiled. She pulled me off my bed, "we've got to make a pit-stop in town so I can buy a swimsuit..." I said as they nodded. We gathered up some items and then headed for the ships. "Going somewhere?" Ozpin asked as we stopped and looked at him, "we're going t-to the be-beach professor O-Ozpin..." Aika stuttered as she hid behind Hoshi, Ozpin gave her a warming smile. "Very well, please return before midnight," he told us as he walked away sipping on his drink, we all walked across the courtyard, I stood on the edge. I looked back at my friends and Qrow, I smiled, waved bye at them as I fell back. "Y/n!" they all shouted as they ran over to the edge. I flapped my wings in front of them, "did you guys forget that I can naturally fly?" I asked as they all gave a sigh of relief. I chuckled as they got on the airship. I flew beside them feeling the wind in my feathers and my hair made me smile. We all landed, then walked through Vale until we walked into a store. The boys were not entertained, neither was Hoshi and Raven, Aika and Summer, on the other hand, were dragging me around to look at all the different swimsuits.

"Help" I spoke as I looked back at Hoshi and them. Hoshi just chuckled, "Y/n! How about this one?" Summer spoke holding one up. "Too revealing" I simply said, then Aika picked one up and I fell in love with it. It came with a pair of shorts.

I changed in the changing room since the girls were wearing their swimsuits under their outfits, and the boys were wearing shirts since they were wearing their shorts. I walked out, they all stared at me in amazement. Qrow was the one practically drooling over me. Raven saw this and rolled her eyes. She closed Qrow's mouth. "You're going to catch flies brother" she spoke as I snorted. We found a spot to hang out, I lay on my stomach while on my towel and I read. Qrow sat beside me, flicking water on my page by accident. "Really?" I looked over at him, his hair was slicked back, water was dripping off his body and I blushed. But now I got a better look at his face, I squinted as he stared at me, I then closed my eyes. A flash of the man who gave me my scar came into my head, I gasped as I opened my eyes and moved away from him. "Y/n?" he cocked his head, he reached for me. "No...d-don't touch me..." I whispered as I stared at him, "what's wrong?" he asked as Raven walked up to see what was going on. I panted as I placed my hand on the side of my head. I grabbed my clothes and took flight.
