~A few weeks later~

I sat at the table sipping coffee, I was doing everything I could to stay awake. I heard the door open, I looked up and saw Qrow walking in with Summer and Tai. "Where are the kids?" I asked as they looked at me, "asleep...which is what you're supposed to be doing" Qrow spoke as I snorted, "and let Salem torture the fuck outta me? No." I shook my head as I continued to sip my coffee, Qrow let out a sigh. "Time to do what I did with Ruby" he whispered, I looked at him, he picked me up bridal style. He walked over to the couch and sat down with me on his lap. "What are you doing?" I asked as he looked at me, "I used to do this for Ruby when she had a nightmare...granted, you're a lot older than Ruby was at the time..." he spoke as moved my head so I was laying my head on his chest. "She used to fall asleep listening to my heart...something about it soothed her" he added as I listened to his heart, I yawned a little, "she's not wrong...it is soothing..." I whispered as he chuckled. Summer and Tai sat across from us, Qrow and the three of them talked about things as I slowly fell asleep.

~Qrows pov~

I looked down at Y/n and saw she was fast asleep. I smiled as I held her close, "you two would make beautiful babies" Summer spoke as I looked at her in shock, "what? You would" she giggled as Tai chuckled, I just laughed, soon Y/n started squirming, "it's all right Y/n...I'm here and nothing is going to hurt you...I promise" I whispered as I kissed her forehead, she calmed down. "So, you used to hold Ruby like this whenever she had nightmares?" Summer asked me as I nodded, "like...forever ago. When we thought you had died, I stayed with Tai until he could get back into the swing of things" I told her "he raised Yang and Ruby for a while, while I was still dealing with it..." Tai told her. "I'm so sorry...to both of you, I wanted to write...but I couldn't because then she'd know where I was and Y/n, needed to get close to her to figure out her true plan...I guess she didn't find out" Summer spoke as I stared at Y/n's golden feathers on her wings. I looked up and went to say something when Y/n started screaming bloody murder, she fell out of my lap and onto her back, I looked at my lap and saw there was blood. My eyes grew wide as she sat up screaming. Blood oozed down her back. Her wings were cut off. James ran in, to check on her when he saw this he picked her up and we all rushed to the hospital wing of the school

~Your pov~

Bandages were wrapped around the stumps that were once my wings. I stared into the ground in shock. 'S-She cut off my wings...' I thought as Ruby walked up, "Y/n?" she asked in a small voice, I looked at her a blinked a few times. I was in my now stained with blood previously white leggings and my bra. I never wore my heels around my room, "y-yeah Ruby?" I asked trying to not sound upset or sound rude because she was adorable. She just stared at me and hugged me tightly which caused me to wince. "Sorry..." she whispered as I hugged her, "it's all right Rosebud" I spoke as I hugged her, we stayed like this for a few minutes. This is what I needed right now, to be held by someone who wasn't Qrow. It wasn't that I loved Qrow, it's just right now I didn't want to be held by him. I guess Ruby knew this so she came and held me. "We will stop her" she spoke with determination in her voice. 'If only that were true kiddo...' I mentally sighed as she pulled away. She then left. After a few weeks, I was allowed to return to my room. I stood on the edge of the Academy, staring out into Atlas,  "you okay?" Qrow spoke as I looked at the ground, "no...and I'm never going to be okay..." I whispered as he sighed and placed a hand on my shoulder. "I'm so sorry Y/n..." he spoke as I looked at him, "everything I loved has been taken away from me...except you guys..." I told him as his eyes filled with sadness.

"I blame Ozpin...if he hadn't gone to the fucking tower...none of this would be happening...", "butterfly effect" he just said as I sighed, "I know...but my statement still stands" I whispered as I walked back, I walked into my room and saw Ironwood and my friends standing in front of something. "What?" I asked it was clear to everyone in the room that I was in a depressive state, "as soon as you lost your wings...after I took you to the hospital wing, I called up a few favors. I had the best minds in Atlas work on these for you..." he spoke as they moved aside to reveal a large glass case with silver wings inside. "They're state of the art, bulletproof, the feathers can be used as weapons, it connects with your scroll so you can choose to use dust, they're waterproof, and faster." Ironwood spoke as I walked up to the case, I placed my hand on the case, "thanks...but uh, I don't need them..." I simply said walking away, "we just want to see you get normal." Tai spoke as I stopped and scoffed. "Normal? None of this is normal? I can just strap a pair of metal wings to my back and act like everything is okay! Because it's not! She's in my fucking head, she can do whatever she wants to me in my dream and it affects me in real life! Nothing about me is normal" I shouted as Oscar looked at me with sadness in his eyes, "all of this is because of  Ozpin...not Oscar...not anyone else in this room...but Ozpin...and I hate him for it..." I said walking out of my room past Qrow.
