Meanwhile...
The riot at the central precinct had already been buzzing with media coverage. With the local news vans parked outside the precinct, all competing for the chance of getting the latest scoop for the presses.
On the rooftop, a few blocks away from the media frenzy, reemerging from a small cloud of smoke was Wiccary who felt exhausted after teleporting from the precinct. Unsure about how her plan had failed again twice, what still had her stumped was how greatly she had underestimated Darksun and his powers to uncover her identity. Now aware with what she had to deal with, she made a quick phone call to the Lobos.
Raymundo answered his phone with a sarcastic, 'hola chica, I take it things didn't go so well at the Casa de policia?'
'What the bloody hell did you think happened? The place was swarming with thugs, I was this close to getting my bloody target for you before I got bloody fucking swamped and now he's gone again!' Wiccary shouted over the phone in a frenzied state.
Raymundo quickly diffused the confrontation, 'whoa, whoa calm down chica! Everythin' is fine; you're in one piece, and not much ta complain 'bout now is there?'
But Wiccary quickly answered back, 'complain about?! I know you sent those other thugs to the precinct, what did you promise them?'
'My benefactor wanted Darksun to be exclusive ta us, so he raised the bounty on his head ta over one million dollars just ta get the other gangs out of the way, which happens to work in our favour,' the cartel boss replied.
'And you didn't bother to fill me in on this bloody plan of yours? What is it you're not telling me Raymundo?' grilled Wiccary.
'Nothin' for you ta worry about now chica, just do your part and then we'll get our payload, tu entiende?'
Wiccary was starting to have second thoughts about what she's been tasked with. She took a deep breath and answered, 'I'll call you tomorrow,' before she hung up to start locating Darksun by sensing his energy. Yet her search found his rare energy all over the city, so narrowing it down to his most recent location would take a while before she got lucky.
Back at the precinct –An hour later, a few of the cops were helping to clean up the station after the hell they had all gone through. Steve had been browsing through numerous camera feeds on his tablet for any sign of Darksun and Officer O'Neil's whereabouts, but so far the results had been less than successful.
'Any luck finding them Steve?' Mia asked.
'Sorry Mia, I've observed every camera feed I could tap into, and all of them got nothing,' Steve answered regretfully until he added, 'however, the only one that was in our favour tonight was the one stationed near the precinct. It showed them entering the entrance to the underground subway station, but they were followed by three Yakuza thugs. A few minutes later, two thugs ran back out carrying their friend with them, and from the look of things they were beaten.'
'How can you tell from such a long distance?' Mia asked, which prompted Steve to point out the injured thug with a very familiar eye treatment.
'Ah I see what you mean, so are Jake and Darksun still there?'
'I've already sent a CSI team to investigate the scene a few minutes ago. By the time, they got there all they found there were a few guns and a blood-soaked katana. Dr. Phillips is there right now investigating, but so far there's still no trace of our boys.'
'What about the GPS signal in his badge, could we still track him through that?' Mia asked with one last hope.
Steve opened the screen to a map showing the signals of all the cops in LA, 'the signal for Jake showed that he was at the subway terminal then all of a sudden, his signal blinked out like it wasn't there.'
