Back in the real world –
Darksun awoke from the mind-link suddenly, and noticed his sight start to slowly restore itself. Though blurred, the first thing he saw was a lifeless Phantom on the floor.
'Phantom NO!' shouted Darksun. He reached out to get Phantom back onto the bed.
Jake, Meyra and Wiccary had heard Darksun's cries and rushed in to see what had happened. While Meyra did as much as she could to resuscitate him, Phantom was still bleeding out.
But it was Wiccary who felt that there was nothing to be done for Phantom as she sensed only an empty void left inside of his body.
Meyra called it in while she was shedding tears, 'I did all that I could do but, I'm so sorry Darksun, he's gone!'
Not being able to bear the grief, Darksun attempted to generate enough necromantic energy to resurrect his mentor. But his powers were not working on Phantom and he tried again but Jake stopped him by grabbing his hands and telling him, 'Darksun you need to let him go, he's not coming back.'
But Darksun was still in denial until Wiccary reminded him, 'listen if you did manage to resurrect Phantom, he wouldn't be the same man you once knew. Because the small window of time has already closed, he will become an empty shell without a soul, a mere wraith. The reason he gave you his necromantic energy was not just to heal you faster, but also because he wanted to die. He must have been tired, tired of the patrolling, tired of the fight. When a Neco'ma wills themselves to die, their necromantic energy is given to the nearest Neco'ma within the vicinity as their soul is being sent to the Spirit-World.'
Jake softly comforted his old friend, 'it's ok to mourn him you know.'
Darksun was shedding a few tears as he admitted to Jake, 'it's not just because I'm mourning for him. But...now I'm scared that I don't know what to do!'
Darksun fell to his knees finally accepting that Phantom was dead. Meyra then gave him a hug to share the same grief for their fallen friend.
Meanwhile...After emerging from the bio-electric sphere in the Eastside Barrio, Mi'ko, Voltage, Tiger and Ayesha had located what was alleged to be one of the Lobos' hideout. But to be sure that the location was accurate, Mi'ko asked Voltage, 'are you sure that this is the right place?'
'I'm definitely sure of it. I tracked down the phone belonging to Raymundo to this house, not to mention the Latin music they're playing is really loud,' the newly dubbed Voltage asserted to the others.
After noticing all of the cars that were adorned with the Lobos' symbol on the windscreens, Tiger had already deduced, 'with this many cars here, it makes you all think that they all might be expecting us?'
'It's possible that they will. But we have a more powerful trump card in our corner don't we?' Ayesha responded.
All their eyes were pointing towards Voltage when he curiously asked, 'why are you guys staring at me like that?'
Mi'ko explained to him, 'the Lobos haven't encountered you back in the warehouse, which gives us an advantage. So, let's shut up and crash their party, Voltage will you do the honour of breaking their door for us?'
Voltage approached the door and generated a bolt of lightning and threw it at the door, smashing it into pieces.
Inside were a few Lobos and their boss Raymundo. The brute of a man demanded, 'now what the fuck do you think you're doin' bargin' into mi casa!'
He and his crew armed themselves with an arsenal of weapons aimed at the four intruders. Mi'ko brought out her guns whereas Ayesha equipped her retractable Bo staff. Tiger raised his claw extending fists, and Voltage powered up into his pale-skin, blue-haired form, levitating from the ground.
