Leaving you was hard enough. Seeing you again reminded me of all the things we've been through.
Briar's POV
Relief washed through me the moment the bell signalled the end of the day.
My first day wasn't too bad. I met a girl named Berkeley when I had history first lesson because I was struggling to find my class and she decided to help me out, as she could clearly tell that I wasn't familiar with the layout of the school. Turned out that we also shared a few other classes together. Berkeley is such a sweet girl, I'm thankful that she chose to help me without asking. She even introduced me to her own group of friends at lunch: Milaina, Alexandra and Emmerly. They all said their hellos and asked me a few questions that weren't too overwhelming.
"I'll see you tomorrow Briar," she lifted her bag onto her back and pulled me in for a quick hug.
"See you round! Have fun at dance, Berks," I pulled away so I could open my locker.
Berkeley smiled at me and made her way out. After I took my bag out of my locker, I had a strange feeling that someone was behind me. I turned around to face a familiar figure.
Myles Erlick."Long time no see Mylo" I blushed, surprised that I used his nickname.
At the same time, I couldn't help but stare at him. He no longer was the skinny boy I once knew. Instead, he had become quite muscular from years of dance. His eyes still had the warmth that shone whenever he was in a good mood.
"Wow. Bri, you've grown so much... How's life?" Myles grinned, settling into our conversation with ease."Not bad, it just feels weird to be back here. In Toronto."
Myles readjusted his jacket. "It kinda feels as if we said goodbye yesterday, and now I'm seeing you again."
"Well, it has been a good five years since...you know," I shrug.
"That long?!"
I nodded. It really had been five years since I moved from Toronto. One day I was still here, and then the next day I wasn't. Now, I'm back where I started.
There was a beep. Myles checked his watch quickly and then he shoved his hands into his pocket. "I gotta get going, so hopefully I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Sure. Same place, same time?"
Myles gave a thumbs up as he neared the exit. I wondered whether he still did acting lessons alongside dance. I smiled in return. It's nice to know that he took notice of my reappearance.
So far, so good.
Hope you guys are all okay at home! Sorry that there's nothing really interesting so far, but I promise that there will be better things to come :)
