You are my new favourite feeling
Briar's POV
After hanging out with Myles yesterday, I feel different. Why wouldn't I feel different? We kissed. Calling him my boyfriend is going to take time to get used to.
"There you are!"
A blonde haired girl barrelled into me with a huge hug. I leaned onto her shoulder briefly, and pulled away. "Berks! I've got something to tell you."
"You guys went on another date?"
"No, I mean, sorta... Well he –"
She gasped. "He asked you out? Oh my god, I'm so happy for you! We all knew this was gonna happen, I can't believe it took two months to figure it out. Ahh!"
I blushed. "Really? You and the girls have been talking about it when I'm not there?"
"I don't think so..."
She cracked a smile and I laughed. Having a best friend like Berkeley, really makes life better.
That moment kept the biggest grin on my face for the entire day. I felt unstoppable. No one was going to lessen my mood, not even Kiara. Speaking of her, I hardly see her around at school besides during lunch when she's with Kolton. He's not into girls like me, huh? Well, she's wrong.
After school, he was standing outside of the school fence. This time, the air around us has changed. I can feel there's so much more between us. We haven't spoken since yesterday, but he did text me this morning, as well as last night. As I approach him, he turns his attention to me. Myles ran his fingers through his hair anxiously, before engulfing me in his arms.
"Miss me?" he asked, stroking my hair.
I nodded into his chest, then glanced up at him. It feels good to be in his arms again. Myles watched me with adoration. To see how far we've come now, seems crazy. I swear the other day, we were still little kids mucking around in his treehouse. Back then, I didn't even think about our possible future together.
"Let's go grab something to eat, and I'll take you home afterwards," Myles suggested.
"Who said we're going home?"
He smiled. "Aww, you don't want to leave me yet do you?"
"Maybe I don't?" I said, trying my best not to laugh.
Myles released me from his arms. "C'mon, let's get going," he held out a hand to me.
I rolled my eyes, and let him take me with him. We walked to his car hand in hand. Chatting avidly about our day. Sometimes it's the little things like these that mean a whole lot more.
As we started to drive away, I couldn't help but feel like someone was watching us. The sheer thought of it made me tremble in my seat. However, Myles clearly didn't notice because he was too busy singing along to the radio.
If there really is someone following us, who is it? And why are they doing this?
Hi there! This is sort of a filler chapter tbh, but we got some bryles cuteness though. I've got loads planned for this book, but I need to write it out. Hope you've had a great week everyone😊
