Sometimes that feeling inside is unexplainable.
Myles' POV
"I'm tired," Kingsley yawned.
I chuckled. "Come on buddy, I'll take you inside."
After lifting Kingsley to his feet, I glanced back at Bri."Go on, I'll be fine," she smiled knowingly. I don't want to leave her alone for too long, but at the same time, I need to help out my little brother.
"Give me a piggyback!"
Little boys can be so demanding at times. I love Kingsley, even though he can be rather irritating when I can't be bothered with anything. I crouched down and let him crawl onto my back. His arms hang over my shoulders as I pull him up by the thighs.
"3, 2, 1, GO!" I sprinted towards the back door. He screamed with pure excitement as he bobbed up and down on my back. I haven't given him a piggyback for a long time, but he's still quite light at least.
~later that afternoon~
I kicked the ball away, swiftly dodging Briar's foot. "This isn't fair!" she whined.
"I'm being easy on you right now, can't you tell?"
"It's not like I know how to play."
Over the next ten minutes we continue playing our mini game. Bri still complained, even though I was still going easy for her sake. It's okay. We're having a good time. There was a noise that was coming from in the house.
"Aha! I got the ball!" her voice took my focus back to the game. She had ran ahead of me, so I followed after her.
By the time I reached her, I had no choice but to fight for the ball back. I hooked my foot behind her leg. I could feel her resisting, but I yanked my foot away, and I tumbled to the ground with her. We lay side by side. Breathing heavily, her shining blue eyes meet mine. Our faces mere centimetres apart. I reach towards her face. Briar froze as I traced my fingers along her jaw. I lifted her chin up and leaned in.
Our lips meet as her hand clasps the back of my head. Her lips feel so soft against mine. I honestly could never get enough of her. All these years of knowing Bri, I didn't know how much I liked her until now.
She pulled away, her cheeks rosy with colour. God, she's beautiful.
"For a long time my heart was trying to tell me something, but I couldn't understand what it was. That day I saw you for the first time in years... I was lost for words. And now there's no denying how much I like you, Bri."
"Mylo, I-I like you a lot too," her lips curved into a bigger smile.
I wrapped my arm around her and she rests her head on my chest. "You know what? We could lie here forever. You and me."
"I'd like that."
