BLOOD OATH

Before they had left the horrid sewer, Bill had found Georgie's raincoat confirming that Georgie Denbrough was actually dead. Aubrey had went home as fast as she could. She opened the door looking around before noticing her mother and sister sitting on the couch. A family portrait was held in Charlotte McClain's grasp.

The sound of the front door closing was what grabbed the woman's attention. She looked up, her eyes were red and puffy from crying. When she saw Aubrey standing there she let out a cry before hurrying up off the couch and running over toward her eldest daughter. Charlotte threw Aubrey into her arms, crying into the blonde's shoulder.

"Don't you ever do that to me again Aubrey! I thought you had become one of those missing kids." For once, Charlotte McClain actually sounded worried as well as relieved. That brought a small smile to Aubrey's face. Aubrey threw her arms around her mother, giving her a kiss on the cheek as  she nuzzled into the crook of her neck.

"I'm so sorry, Mama. I'm so, so sorry." Aubrey whispered. Cara stood there,a bright smile on her face. She could tell, just by this moment, that things between her sister and mother were going to be different. And that was a good thing.

Charlotte pulled away from her daughter, looking her over and taking notice off the deep gash that was on her forehead. "That's going to need stitches." Charlotte pointed out and Aubrey nodded her head.

"Yeah, I know." Aubrey sighed. "But can I take a shower first and eat food. I haven't done that int almost three days."

Charlotte smiled at her daughter before nodding her head. "Yeah, go ahead. I'll make us all dinner." Charlotte gave Aubrey a kiss on the forehead before saying to her, "I love you, Aubrey."

"I love you too, Mama."

SEPTEMBER

The group of friends all sat around, listening as Beverly explained what happened whilst in the dead lights.

"I only remember parts, but... I thought I was dead. That's what it felt like. I saw us, saw us together, back in the cistern, but we were older. I mean our parents age." The redhead explained. Aubrey gave the girls hand a comforting squeeze earning a small smile from the redhead.

"W-w-w-what were we all doing there?" Bill stuttered.

"I just remember how we felt," Beverly answered, "how scared we all were." She looked over at Aubrey before looking at the rest of the group. "I don't think I can ever forget that."

There was silence before Bill found a piece of glass and stood up. "Swear. Swear, that if IT isn't dead, that if IT ever comes back, we'll come back too." They all looked at Bill before Beverly stood up, Aubrey following her actions. Soon, everyone was standing up. Bill walked around the group, cutting a slice into the palm of their hands. Once he did his own, he grabbed hands with Beverly and Richie, and everyone started to do the same.

They stood there in silence before Stanley broke it. "I hate you." He looked directly at Bill, his face serious before it broke out into a smile. The group all chuckled at his statement before Stanley said his goodbyes. One by one, everyone left until it was only Bill, Beverly, and Aubrey.

"I'll see you both around, yeah?" Bill asked. The two girls nodded at him. Aubrey gave him a hug goodbye before watching him walk away.

"You all packed for Portland?" Aubrey asked, picking up a conversation with the girl who she now decided was her crush, though she was pretty sure Beverly had always been her crush without her even knowing it.

"Yeah, pretty much, I'm going tomorrow morning." Beverly answered.

"How long you gonna be gone?" Aubrey asked.

"My aunt says I can stay for as long as I want." The redhead replied and Aubrey nodded. "What about you? You all packed and ready to go back to London?"

"Not really," Aubrey sighed. "I'll have to see my dad again, but I'll get to see my old friends again. So, it all works out, minus the fact that I won't to ever get to see you guys again."

"Hey, you never know." Beverly smiled, nudging the girls shoulder. Aubrey chuckled before standing up.

"I have to go, I promised my mom and sister I would be home before four o'clock." Aubrey sighed. She looked and Beverly who stood up. She gave her best friend a quick hug before pulling away. "See you around, Bev."

Aubrey started to walk away and Beverly looked at the blonde, a decision was trying to be made in her mind. Beverly let out a sigh before running after the girl. Aubrey turned when she heard fast footsteps coming toward her. Beverly stood in front of the girls and Aubrey cocked her head to the side. Beverly looked into the girls eyes before taking a leap of faith. She smashed her lips onto Aubrey's, surprising the blonde. Aubrey, however, kissed back. Her eyes fluttered closed as she savored the moment.

Beverly pulled away and Aubrey sent the girl a smile. She gave Beverly a quick peck on the lips before whispering to the redhead, "Until we meet again, my love." Aubrey sent her one last smile before walking away. Beverly watched her go, a wide smile on her face.

"Until we meet again." Beverly spoke, loud enough so that the retreating blonde could hear her.
