Edgar's face turned about five different shades of red, words escaping him as he was faced with my obstinance.
"You heard the lady," Alastor's voice was silky smooth with danger, "Kindly remove yourselves from my house." When Edgar and Mary didn't move from their spots, he stood up to his full height, towering menacingly over them both.
"I do believe I was clear the first time," He said in a low tone, "Get out and don't come back." Edger turned on his heel, grabbed his wife by the hand, and hauled her out the door and out the house. Quiet fell across the room, neither Alastor or I saying anything.
"Well done," He startled me after a long moment of silence, turning to face me, "Top notch job on telling him off." I gave my host a little smile, pleased with myself for standing up to my horrible cousin.
Taking a seat next to me, Alastor continued, "A pity they left before dinner, but oh well, more for us I suppose. By the way, I do have some news regarding your cousin's paper." I raised my eyebrow, curious. What in the nine circles did the infamous Radio Demon have to do with a newspaper?
"I was the one who offered to buy it out," He admitted, watching my curious expression turned into a shocked one, "Its foundering. Any decent investor has been looking for an excuse to pull out. They all hate your cousin. He's a halfwit and a horrible boss. They would be willing to back nearly anyone who isn't Edgar."
"And what the hell are you going to do with a newspaper?" I asked.
Alastor's Cheshire grin strectched across his face, "Why, my dear, give it to you of course."
