A shaft of red-tinted sunlight stirred me to wakefulness. Lazily, I stretched beneath the covers before rolling on my side to see Alastor still asleep next to me. His hair was disheveled and partway across his face, giving the infamous radio demon a relatively innocent appearance.
Smiling softly to myself, I reached out and brushed his hair from his face. The feeling of my fingers made him stir with a quiet groan.
"(Y/N)?" He mumbled, stretching like I had, his back arching off the bed.
"Good morning," I said, leaning over to kiss his cheek.
"Good morning," Alastor replied with his ever-present grin, "Are you ready to take over the newspaper industry?"
Sighing, I played with a lock of his red and black hair as I answered, "It will be an improvement over sitting at home like a china doll."
"We could always make a coffee stop before you have to go into the office." He chuckled, wrapping an arm around me to pull me closer to him. I kissed him with a satisfied grin. Somehow he knew what would lure me to work.
"Alright," I consented, "But I want whipped cream and cinnamon on top of my latte."
"I think I can manage that," Alastor replied, kissing me again in a way that made me desperately want to stay in bed with him all day.
