Sweet Moments With An Apology

James has been gone for maybe an hour now. I've been sitting outside the restaurant we ate at with James' business people, thinking.

It's quiet for the most part. There's the occasional, "welcome, hello, nice to see you, you look beautiful, please come again" comments from anyone who enters or exits.

The ladies look way better than I do. I was simple dressed where as they seem to look as if they just left a prom or Gala. But they were beautiful none the less.

I've been thinking on who to call. If I did James, he'd most likely to ignore. Josh would overreact and get hot headed. He's mom would be embarrassing and I didn't know anyone else really.. Ugh.

"You alright miss?"

Startled from my thoughts, I look up to meet Owens sweet baby face. His sandy blonde hair that looked like he's colored it brown once is messy and fallen over half his face. He looked tired, but kept a smile. He must've been working late. Does this kid get off or have breaks?

"Oh.. hey. Yeah I'm fine. Just relaxing." I try pulling it off by reclining my legs out without showing to much cause hello..dress still.

He nods and sits beside me. "He left huh.."

I didn't wanna say yes and have to admit to that. Kinda embarrassing to. But I couldn't lie either, so I just nodded.

Owen was quiet for a moment and I kept thinking over who to call.

"Do you need a ride home?"

I gazed up to him, "no..I'm alright. I'll figure it out. Thank you though."

He didn't buy it. "I can give you a ride ya know.. I'm off now anyways. Actually, I clocked out about a couple hours ago..."

I scrunch my nose confused. "Then..why are you still here?"

He was nervous. I could tell by how he was rubbing the back of his neck. "Well...I wanted to make sure you got out and left okay."

For someone I don't even know but a name, is caring more about me than anyone has. Well...other than Josh.

"Oh.. I've gotten through the dinner alive and survived another day so..I call it a win." I smile the best I can. No need having him feel bad.

He nods and stands up, "If you decide to take my offer.. call. I'll be coming by in my car." He smiles down at me before walking off to the parking lot of vehicles.

I would've taken the offer. He was sweet and nice enough to ask. Not sure why he'd ask a total stranger, but he did. I shouldn't be rude.

I waited til I seen a silver Kia Optima pull up.

"So yes?" Owen smiles from the driver seat at me who is still on the curb.

I sigh dramatically, "I guess. Since you are buggin' me so." I smile a little and walk around to get in.

Once I've seated and buckled in, he speaks, "sorry, I would have helped you in. You should have given me a moment."

"No it's okay. I've got it."

He nods and pulls off. "So where do you live?"

I wasn't even thinking about that part. James drove and he knows his way around. I've never really been out and about to learn. I don't know our address.

"Erm..." I laugh a little uneasily and he looks at me funny. "Well...you see...um.."

"You don't know where you live..Do you?" He smirks.

"Of course I do! I'm not stupid!"

"Mmhm.." He hums at me.

I grumbled, "no...I don't.. I don't get out much. I know it's a good distance.."
