2| One Could Be Jailed

SELENE

A sharp inhale escaped my mouth as I let go of the stone I used to knock the man out.

Even before I could think of it, my body acted on its own and I just found myself hitting Frigate Santillana. Now, he's motionless on the cold pavement.

I am having an internal turmoil but I am doing my best to keep calm. I dragged Frigate on the side of the road. He's heavy, but with the adrenaline coursing through my veins, I managed.

I checked on his pulse and I was relieved when I confirmed that he's still alive. I sat him up with his back on the huge boulder.

I panicked when a car stopped beside us. I was ready to kiss the unconscious man para mapalabas na we're making out in here, when a familiar voice called me.

"What are you doing here, Selene?" Icen called from inside the car.

When I looked at the car, the window was already rolled down and Icen's perfect face was frowning at me. When he looked at the man beside me his eyes widened.

"He collapsed? Heat stroke?" Icen asked then he alighted the car.

"You're alone?" I asked with a hint of worry.

Icen's brows furrowed. He checked for the man's pulse then he watched my face carefully.

I bit on my bottom lip. I don't know if I could trust Icen but what choice do I have?

"I hit him, Ice." I confessed. "He's here, and I panicked." I explained. "What if he'll ruin the wedding? I don't want Kuya Trey to have any more problem. So I stopped this man from causing any problem or delay on the wedding."

I sighed. I am against this wedding and I don't like Marron for my cousin, but I want Kuya Trey's happiness more than anything.

"Sino ba 'to?" Tanong ni Icen at itinuro ang walang malay na lalaki.

"This is Marron's ex." I replied. I want to add that this is the man Marron had sex with behind my cousin's back but I stopped myself. "I'm certain that he's not invited for the wedding tomorrow. What else would he do here aside from trying to stop the wedding?"

Icen frowned at me. "Paano pala kung mangungumusta lang?"

I raised a brow. "That's hilarious."

Icen looked at me for a moment before he sighed. "No matter his reason is, wala nang kuwenta dahil pinatulog mo na s'ya. We should do something about it before you put yourself in a bigger trouble."

Icen lifted the man up then deposited him on the backseat of his car. This is the first time that I am grateful for his presence.

"Paano pala kung napatay mo?" Icen asked while he's driving.

I am on the passenger seat and Icen decided for us to checkin a hotel. He said we could pull a show that the man passed out drunk and we're his friends.

I pouted. "Impossible. Daddy enrolled me in a martial arts class and I was taught where to hit someone to knock him out. I also asked Justin once what part to hit in case I will be kidnapped."

Icen chuckled. "Tapos ngayon ikaw itong nangidnap."

I rolled my eyes. "I'm doing this for Kuya Trey."

"You could be jailed for this, Selene." Icen warned with an annoying smirk.

"I'll make you sama. You're an accomplice."

"Hm." Icen laughed. "That sounds tempting. We wouldn't have anything to do there aside from fucking."

"Yuck!" I hit his arm. "You're so lewd. That's disgusting."

The anxiousness that I was feeling a while ago got mixed up with disgust with the pervert beside me. For a moment I considered giving Icen what he wants so that he'll stop bugging me.

Icen got a room for us. He even asked for an extra covers because our friend was too drunk that he might throw up in the bed.

I helped Icen in settling the doctor on the bed.

"Come on, baby, kiss me. Napagod ako sa kakabuhat nitong kinidnap mo." Icen pouted then wrapped himself around me.

I turned to face him then I made face. "You're so kulit."

Icen gave me his charming smile then tucked loose strands of hair behind my ear. He looked at me as if I'm the most beautiful woman in his eyes.

If Icen is not a flirt and a pervert, I would think that he really likes me.

"You're so beautiful, baby." Icen whispered then he slowly inched his face towards me.

My lips parted as I look at his beautiful face. His soft fingers on my cheeks are sending sweet sensations on my skin. And when his lips found mine, my eyes involuntarily closed.

Icen kissed me tenderly. For the first time since Icen showed interest in me, I felt like he's really trying to make me feel beautiful.

Icen's arm slowly snaked on my waist. He gently pulled me closer then deepen the kiss.

My hand clenched on his shirt. Unlike our previous kisses, I don't feel aroused. Instead, I am feeling giddy. Maybe this is the butterflies in the tummy they're talking about.

Our sweet kiss was interrupted with the sudden booming sound of a ringing phone. I don't have my phone with me, so it's definitely Icen's.

I carefully pushed Icen away. When I looked at him, he got his eyes closed and a sweet smile was plastered on his lips.

"Your phone." I said in a hoarse voice.

Icen slowly opened his eyes then placed a quick gentle kiss on the tip of my nose before fishing his pocket for his phone.

Icen showed me his phone. "It's Ae. Baka hinahanap na ako."

I bit my lip. I am still high with the kiss.

Icen picked the call in a speaker phone.

"Where the fuck are you, bro? I've been waiting for an hour! I missed the wedding because of you!" Ae shouted from the other line.

Icen sat at the edge of the bed. "I'm almost there."

"Tangina mo! Kanina ka pa malapit na. Magkaiba ba ang isang kilometro nating gago ka?!" Ae's obviously pissed.

"Chill, dude. You need to get laid?" Icen chuckled.

"Get your fucking ass in here! We'll look for Selene."

Icen and I exchanged looks. Bot our brows were raised.

"Why? Where's my baby?" Icen asked, trying to act innocent.

"The fuck?" Ae blurted out. "If I know, we won't be needing to look for her! Where's your brain, dude?"

Icen laughed hard. "Fuck you too!" Icen pulled me to sit on his lap. He placed a kiss on my cheek then hugged me with an arm. "My mind was elsewhere. I am with someone now. Pero kung nawawala ang mutya ng buhay ko, I'll be there, Aeiou. I'll see you. Ciao!"

I sighed when Icen ended the call.

"What do you want to happen?" Icen asked me.

I shrugged. "I don't know?"

Icen chuckled then he held me tighter. "Think about it, baby. For now, I'll play innocent. Call me when you need anything."

I sent Icen off. I lay beside the unconscious man then stared at the ceiling.
