This is my longest update for this story so far 😂

SELENE

"Selene, don't forget to call me after your appointment." Mom said in her usual strict tone. As if I'm one of her employees. "And our agreement this afternoon."

I rolled my eyes. "Yes, ma'am. I was reminded by Mr. Amante last night." I sarcastically replied.

Mom clicked her tongue then pointed me with her fork. "Don't skip any details, Selene Rosario."

Today, I'll be meeting with the doctor my surgeon from Florida referred. Kasama ko dapat sila Mommy at Daddy kaso ay may biglang meeting si Mommy ngayong umaga at si Daddy naman ay na-extend ang business meeting sa Japan.

"I'm not a kid, Mom." I smirked. "I'll be fine don't worry."

Mom stared at me for a long while. I smiled at her then I resumed eating my breakfast.

God! I miss eating my usual heavy meals and my usual morning routines. I hope for a positive response this morning. I can't wait to be back to my usual self.

"Should I cancel my meeting para masamahan ka?" Mom murmured.

I rolled my eyes. "Mom, you have to work. You have to pay for my expenses." I teased. "And I'll be fine. Stop overthinking."

Mom sighed then ru her fingers through my hair. "Call me right after your talk with the doctor."

I smiled then I nodded. "You'll be late for your meeting, Mom." I reminded her.

Mom rolled her eyes. "I miss having Tria in the company."

I giggled. "Mom, you'll hurt her with your favoritism. Imagine, you want her to work under you and attend your meetings just so you could come with your pretty Selene."

"Ate will understand, Selene. Nanay din s'ya kaya alam n'ya na mas kailangan ng mga abnormal na anak ng atensyon."

I gasped then pouted. "Abnormal ka d'yan!"

"Come to think of it, I am almost on my menopausal stage when I had you." Mom smirked. "Kaya special ka."

I made face. "You're just thirty nine back then. Hindi pa 'yon menopausal stage." I insisted.

Mom chuckled then pinched my cheek. "I'm glad that you never grew up." She pulled me for a hug. "I still have my baby damulag."

I giggled the hugged her back. "Just wait, Mom. I can give you my own baby."

Mom pulled my hair. "Shut up! Ni hindi ka pa nga nakaka-graduate. Hindi ka pa nakakaranas magtrabaho all your life. You're not responsible enough to be a parent."

"I'll marry a doctor to shoulder all the expenses." I giggled.

"You could do that. But at least earn yourself a degree for your children to brag someday."

"Yeah. Like Ate." I laughed. "A housewife with three masters degree."

Mom laughed. "I never thought that she'll be a housewife."

"Malay mo, ako maging next president ng Pilipinas."

Mom smirked at me. "People won't like a party girl driving a pink Ferrari for a president, my dear."

I raised a bow. "You're right. And I don't like a whole bunch of dependent people to think of."

"Ano ba talagang gusto mong gawin sa buhay mo?" Mom asked with a raised brow.

I shrugged. "Enjoy."

Mom sighed. "You're lucky you're our daughter. You can do that. Your father's rich enough to make that possible for you."
