SELENE
Waking up in the next morning with a bitch of a headache and my captive gone, I wanna slap my face for drinking too much the previous night.
I dragged myself off the bed and into the bathroom. If there's a way to remove my head for a while, I'll pay my soul for it. My head feels like it's splitting into two and I just wanna bang it on the wall to end this misery. Even the cold shower didn't do any good to appease it.
Left without a choice, I groomed myself the best way I can with my terrible situation and used the phone on the reception desk of the hotel to call my brother. As expected, Carrack gave me an earful like a hen on labor. His annoying voice doubled my headache.
"Fine, fine, dearest brother!" I groaned, cutting him off. "Just get your ass right here and pick me up right now if you want me to make it in the grandest wedding we'll ever see in our entire lives." I rolled my eyes. "I would never miss it for the world." I sarcastically added. I ended the call then thanked the receptionist.
I slumped myself on the comfort of the sofa on the receiving area and slept until Carrack kicked my foot.
"Let's go, Selene. Dad's excited to see you." Carrack sarcastically smirked at me. His face telling me that I'm gonna be smacked in the ass for being too naughty.
I made face then I stood up. I pulled Carrack's wrist then I gave him my puppy eyes. "Kuya, my head's spinning." I said, over dramatically. "Carry me, please."
"What the hell's wrong with you?" Carrack's brows furrowed. "May paa ka kaya maglakad ka."
Not minding the surrounding, I sat on the floor then looked up at my brother with a childish pout. "I'm your kid sister. Why can't you be considerate?" I even faked a sob.
Carrack's eyes widened then he quickly looked around us. With his extremely annoyed expression, he bent down to scoop me up. "You brat." He hissed while securing me in his arms.
I giggled. "Love you too, Kuya." I gave him a kiss on his cheek which earned me a glare.
I simply laughed at my brother's crankiness. I wrapped my arms around his neck then relaxed my head on his shoulder.
I fell asleep in Carrack's arms and when I woke up, we're already in the glass Villa on top of the falls. This is still part of Hacienda Vergara but the villa was owned by Tito Troy and Tita Maine. I think it was a gift from the Vergaras.
"Where the hell have you been, Selene Rosario?!" Mom greeted the moment I stepped inside the villa.
"Yeah, Mom, I'm okay. Nothing bad happened." I sweetly smiled.
Dad hurriedly went on me then held me by the shoulders. He did a quick scan on me. "Where have you been, Selene? We're dead worried and another hour without a word from you, the police force will turn this province to look for you. Saan ka nagpunta?"
I hugged my father then snuggled my face on his chest. "I'm sorry, Dad. I got bored and I went out for a bit. It was already late and I don't know where I was. I got myself a room and stayed the night. I thought it was safer. I spent the whole night trying to remember your number. It was only this morning I finally remembered Carrack's number."
I bit my tongue after my smooth story. Damn, it was a good one!
"Next time, don't let that imprudent hellion to wander around without a bodyguard, Travis!" Mom hissed. "You're really a trouble, Selene. Wala ka nang ibinigay kundi sakit ng ulo at kahihiyan! You're aware that today will be Trey's wedding and you almost ruin this because of your irresponsibility!"
It took everything in me not to make face at my mother's statement. I simply buried my face at Dad's chest.
Dad combed my hair with his fingers. "Go find the artists, Selene. It's almost time for the wedding and you should be getting ready. We'll talk about your zany acts tonight." He pressed a kiss on top of my head then he tapped my back.
"Don't be too soft on that imp. You're just teaching her to be more rubbish than she already is."
My arms around Dad tightened. I know I am intentionally annoying my parents but I can't deny that Mom's words sting. She's rubbing it on my face that I am worthless piece of shit.
"Hestia!" Dad called in a firm tone.
"Don't use that tone on me, Travis." Mom replied, keeping her ground. "We both know how much of a headache your daughter is. Selene brought nothing but disappointment, humiliation and predicament. I can't even remember kung kailan ako huling natuwa sa kanya."
"Enough!" Dad roared.
Silence stretched until I felt Dad's hands on my shoulders. "Go upstairs and get dressed, Selene. The wedding is just an hour away." He calmly said then squeezed my shoulders.
I did my best not to look at my mother's direction as I climb the stairs. I gripped on the railings tightly as I feel the world spinning fast around me. I wanna throw up.
After what felt like a century, I finally managed to find the room where the artist are. Some were busy with my Ate while some were busy talking with each other in a bed where my dress was lying.
"Oh, the unfilial daughter finally showed up." Ate said as I closed the door behind me.
Ate is no-doubt, our mother's copy. Hestia the second.
I smirked at her then took the chair next to her. "Sorry to keep you waiting. It's not always easy to be imbecile. I need to be creative sometime. I don't want to bore you." I giggled.
Ate's expression shifted. Oh, she's pissed. Perfect!
Three artist went around me.
"I already had a bath. Do whatever you want, I'll sleep because my head is more of a bitch than I am." I said then I relaxed myself in the chair, closed my eyes, and shut the world around me.
Now I am hoping for Frigate to show up and ruin this wedding my whole family is crazy about.
