Sam
I woke up covered in sweat. I looked around to see I was in a dark bedroom. I then shifted slightly and noticed a person was lying next to me on the bed. The body shifted and sat up.
"Ryan?" I whispered, still lying on my back. Ryan was wearing a different shirt. It was a dark green with a brown tint. It was a little big on him, so the sleeves covered his hands.
A smile crept onto Ryan's face when he saw me.
"You're okay." He smiled.
"Where are we?" I said a little too loud. Ryan quickly shushed me and pointed to my right. I turned over but felt a sharp pain in my gut. I winced at the quick pain, but it quickly left.
"You need to be careful with your stitches." Ryan whispered. I nodded and turned over slower. I saw that kid and the girl were sharing the other bed. It was hard to see them in the dark, but it was obvious it was them.
"What's that boy's name?" I asked.
"Eren." Ryan answered. "Did you not hear it last night?"
"Sorry, I was too busy trying not to pass out." I told him. "What's the girl's name?"
"I don't know that yet." Ryan answered. "I'll ask when they wake up."
"Can you help me up?" I ask.
"Sure... just be careful." He nodded as he got out of bed. He came over to my side and offered his hands. I took them, and he wrapped one of his arms around my back and sat me up. The pain was there, but it wasn't too bad. I then placed my bare feet on the cold wood floor.
"Where are our sweatshirts?" I asked as I leaned on him.
"Carla promised to fix them up for us." Ryan answered as he slowly led me to the door. I saw the large area of my stomach covered in bandages with a red spot showing in the center.
Ryan slowly pushed the door open. It creaked slightly as the sunlight crept into view from the open windows next to the stairway, which was located just across from the bedroom.
"Be careful going down." Ryan told me. I nodded as I took the first step down. Then the next, then the next. We reached the bottom and saw Carla washing dishes in the kitchen.
"Morning." She smiled at us. She quickly walked over to us. "Take it easy. I don't want you getting hurt any more than you already are."
"I'm fine, Mrs. Jaeger." I told her.
"Please, call me Carla." She said as she led me to the kitchen table.
"It may take a while to get used to that." I explained as I leaned back in the wooden chair. Carla then grabbed a shirt off the kitchen counter and brought it over to me. Ryan took the seat to my left.
"Can you raise your arms?" She asked.
"Here let me help." Ryan said as he stood up.
"I got it." I told him. Ryan slowly sat back down. I slowly raised my arms, and Carla slid the shirt down my arms. It was a dark green color with long sleeves. "Thanks." I smiled at her.
"Where's Grisha?" Ryan asked. Carla turned around to face him and answered,
"He has very early work days, so he left about an hour ago."
"Hello." A feminine voice said from the stairs. We all turned to see the girl that was sleeping next to Eren.
"Ah, good morning, Mikasa." Carla smiled. Carla turned back to us as Mikasa approached. "Sam, Ryan, this is Mikasa Ackermann." Ackermann... where have I heard that name before? I thought. Mikasa was still in her nightgown, but her hair wasn't messy at all from sleeping.
