"Bullshit." I chuckled as I stared at the desert. "We're traveling through that?"
"Is that a problem, Jaeger?" Shadis snarled.
"No, sir." I sighed as I stretched on top of my horse.
"Alright, get with your team leader!!" Shadis ordered. "Either Wagner or Bodt!" I rode my horse over to Marco's side and sat right next to Christa. I let out a long sigh and hunched over.
"Look on the bright side, Sam." Christa told me.
"Huh?"
"We'll get to explore all this wonderful territory."
"Yeah." I sarcastically chuckled. "I just hope those two can keep themselves under control for once." I motioned over to Eren and Jean.
"They're both strong personalities that clash sometimes."
"That's an understatement."
"Cadets Arlert and Ackermann will be monitoring your progress throughout the exercise!" Shadis yelled. "Now get going!" The ride into the scorching heat began. It sucked even more that we were required to keep our jackets on.
"Christa, can I ask you something?"
"Of course." She smiled.
"Why are you always so nice to everyone?"
"What do you mean?" She asked. "Everyone should be treated nicely."
"It just seems like you don't really believe that sometimes."
"Are you saying I should be meaner to people?!" She snapped.
"No!" I defended. "I just think you should act how you want to act, and I don't think that is how you want to act." She remained silent and wiped the sweat building up on her forehead.
After who knows how long of riding, the dreaded argument between Jean and Eren began. It wasn't over the Scouts like the fifty times before. It was over a damn lizard. Jean wanted to kill it for food, but Eren didn't want us to get distracted. Christa let out a small laugh as she watched the two bicker and Marco helplessly pleading for them to stop fighting.
As it always has, Sasha began to freak out over the prospect of food. I quickly covered my ears to shield myself from the glass-shattering shriek. The rest of the cadets looked almost dead inside watching this unfold, giving me a little chuckle during this pathetic scuffle.
"I just can't with those two." Armin sighed as he staring writing on his clipboard. "They're like oil and water."
"Shadis puts them on the same team every time to get them to work together for once, but it has continued to fail." I sighed.
"They'll get over it." Christa smiled at us. I then heard Armin mutter something under his breath about marriage or something, but I decided to just brush it off.
Marco was finally able to get things under control for a little bit, and we started on our trek once more.

A few hours later..."Let's put our gear over there!" Thomas announced as he pointed to a large tree. Everyone quickly agreed and placed the gear in a small pile.
"We got any food?" Reiner asked. "I'm sure most of us can't handle stuffing another one of those god-forsaken rations down our throats.
"I'll get some." I replied.
"With what?" Thomas asked. I then grabbed a blade from my gear and held it up to him.
