Sam

I gasped awake. I was lying on a bed in a room lit by two candles. I was worried. Where was I? The last thing I remembered was going home after the battle.

"Sam?" I heard. I could tell it was Ryan. "You're awake." I saw him sitting in a chair next to the bed, his face lit by a candle. A bright smile was attached to his face. I sat up slowly.

"Ryan?" I said. My arms and body were slightly sore. He lunged at me and wrapped me in a tight hug.

"It worked." He cried.

"What did?" I asked. Ryan kept his hand son my shoulders and gave me a puzzled look.

"W-What?" Ryan stuttered.

"That's a very common side-effect." Another voice interrupted. I watched as Zeke came into view.

"Zeke?" I said. "What's going on?" Zeke deeply sighed.

"I guess I gotta start from where you remember." He explained. "What's the last thing you remember?"

"We were on our way to Marley from the battle." I answered.

"Alright." Zeke said as he sat down on the bed.

He proceeded to tell me everything that happened since. By the end, I was filled with tons of emotions. Fear. Happiness. Relief. Wonder. So many.

"So... I have the Warhammer?" I asked for confirmation.

"Yep." Ryan answered.

"We gotta get you ready to leave soon." Zeke cut in.

"Why the rush?" Ryan asked.

"The Marleyan military is searching every nook and cranny for any sign of the Warhammer." He explained. "It's only a matter of time before they check here." He then stood up. "Follow me. We're getting you two ready to leave." I nodded and stood up to follow him.

He handed us hoodies to cover our faces as we stepped outside.

"I remembered to get the ones Annie had given you." He told us.

"Thanks." Ryan smiles as we slipped them on.

"Let's make our way to the docks." He explained.

"What's the plan?" I asked.

"You're gonna hijack a ship and sail to Paradis." He answered.

"That's not a very good plan." I criticized.

"You haven't heard the details yet." He explained. "You will have to subdue the crew and take the boat out of port. There are lots of battleships patrolling the perimeter of the country. Once you reach the patrolled outline, you'll need to transform on the ship you hijacked. You have to know that you have to inflict an injury and have a goal to transform. Once that is done, you will need to use your new power to destroy the nearby battleships that threaten the ship. If the ship sinks, try to hijack one of the battleships and not rough it up too much."

"So you're expecting me to destroy a dozen battleships with a power I haven't even tested yet?" I asked.

"Correct." Zeke answered.

"That's an awful plan." Ryan criticized.

"How do you know I can do it?" I asked.

"I trust you can do it." He answered. "Your lives depend on it." He then cleared his throat. "Once you escape the perimeter, try and escape the Titan. Once you reach the island, transform once you can and destroy the ship entirely. The military knows you are now on Paradis, but they won't have the guts to attack the island." At that exact moment, we reached the docks."
