"Hey, saucy-head!" Jowoon teased, ruffling his sister's hair as he took a seat in front of her.
"Jowoon don't be like that" Daejung defended, nudging his elbow into Jowoon's shoulder.
Hyejin had an unwanted dust of rose on her cheeks because of his statement.
"Don't worry, Dae. I'm used to his idiotic remarks" she giggled at him while simultaneously sticking her tongue out at Jowoon's displeased features.
"Bitch..." he muttered, rolling his eyes.
Daejung lightly sniggered at the siblings little quarrel.
"Good morning, guys!" A lady's voice boomed through over the clicking of her red heels on the floor.
She looked young. Not a year over 25.
"New topics!" She laid a leather briefcase flat on her desk, "Fingerprints" she continued while writing the word down on the board.
Daejung seemed to smirk to himself when she entered the room which unfortunately, was unnoticed by the twins.
"Miss...do you mind introducing yourself?" Daejung asked, raising his hand.
She walked up to his desk and crouched down in front of him, resting both arms on the surface.
The boy leaned forward, teasing her with the look in his eyes.
"Ms. Granger. If it's hard for you to say, just call me Ms. G. Are you satisfied, Mr. Lim?" She said, standing up after finishing the first sentence.
Daejung leaned back in his seat, watching her walk away.
"Hyung!" Jowoon whispered from beside him.
"Did you just flirt...with our criminology teacher?" He said, raising his voice yet still keeping it in a whisper.
Daejung only laughed.
"Flirting? Ew, no! Not with her! I know her. She's in the college here and needed a job, and since she already studies criminology in college, she became a teacher here...her name's Sam. She's legit only a few years older. She's acts like a baby in real life no lie" he explained to Jowoon while Hyejin poked her head through to listen in.
"Holy shit you know this fine specimen of a woman?" she gasped, cupping a hand over her mouth.
"I see you talking" Ms. G said, glaring at the group of friends.
The three turned away from each other and faced the teacher.
Hyejin, Jowoon and Daejung immediately sprinted out the class once the bell rang through their ears.
As usual, the three made their way to the canteen to meet up with their respective friend groups.
Unfortunately, Jowoon has yet to introduce his sister to his friends, apart from Daejung, of course.
The group arrived at the table in the middle to drop Hyejin off.
"I'll be there yeah? With the boys" Jowoon pointed to a secluded table in the corner of the cafeteria, where three boys were already seated and goofing around.
Hyejin nodded and turned her head the other way to face her friends.
Today, she sat in front of Johnny, the one who cursed a lot on their first meeting, and beside Jeno, the sweet one with the cute eye smile, and Taeil, the oldest of the bunch.
"Hey Hye! You're not eating?" Jeno said, glancing at the empty spot in front of her.
"Yeah, dude you should eat" Johnny agreed with a full mouth, his attention still on his food.
"Nah, the food here sucks" she reasoned, shrugging her shoulders, "Plus, I'm never really that hungry anyways".
The boys shrugged with her and continued to converse amongst one another.
"Here, uh- just eat this" Taeil suddenly said from beside her.
He handed her two granola bars that he fished out of his bag as she was talking to Johnny and Jeno.
She smiled and thanked him and proceeded to unwrap one of the granola bars.
As she was munching away, Hyejin was suddenly pulled up and away from the table.
She looked back.
Oh, it was just Daejung.
"Hey Dae! What's up?" she said cheerfully.
He smiled sweetly at her and proceeded to walk to the lockers.
"Your brother wants me to take you home. He said your aunt wanted something"
"Did his lazy butt not want to do it himself?"
"He has soccer tryouts right after lunch. So he asked the guys who was free, and I just so happen to have a free period after this" he explained.
Hyejin made an 'o' shape with her mouth as she slowly nodded her head.
"But why didn't aunt Seyoung just text me or something? Why do I have to go home, geez..." she slightly pouted, she was a bit upset that she had to leave school because of this 'issue'.
Daejung patted her back while laughing,"Get your stuff. Your aunt already called the principal so you won't have to worry about it".
Hyejin put in her locker code and the door swung open.
She slung her backpack over one of her shoulders and told him she was ready to go.
The two walked for a while before making a turn into the exit.
Daejung pushed the door open for her and they both jogged down the steps to the empty courtyard.
It was weird seeing it this empty, usually the green grass that grew in between the stones were covered with students lingering around, it was weird to see the light shine through the gates and onto the concrete, because usually the light just ends up in their eyes, blinding them.
They both pushed the gates open, creating an eerie creaking sound that echoed through the silence.
Once they walked out, the streets were empty too.
No students walking home from school.
No kids running around.
No broke college students driving by in their jacked up cars.
Just the birds tweeting.
And the clouds floating above their heads.
And the flowers being swarmed with butterflies of the rainbow.
And Hyejin's mouth being covered by a wet cloth right as she stepped outside.
She gasped out of shock and as soon as she felt at peace, she felt complete fear.
The chemicals on the cloth took over and now it was all black.
No colors.
No sight of the birds chirping anymore.
No sight of the colorful flowers anymore.
Nothing.
Just darkness.
She felt numb.
Blank.
Empty.
No sounds.
No feelings.
No sight.
Nothing.
