The Night
Callie's POV
As I pulled into the parking spot in front of my apartment complex Avery was just staring out the window. She didn't say anything or even move when I parked the car so I got down and walked around to open the door for her.
"Come on babe. Get out." I realized I said it as soon as I did. It just slipped out. I don't know if Avery even noticed it. She then got out of the car and started to follow me, it really shocked me when she grabbed my hand. When I looked back at her I realized that it was more just for balance because she looked like she was going to fall over. That's the only reason I didn't take my hand back. I led her up the stairs and then to my apartment door. I was getting my keys out of my purse when Avery turned me around and pushed me up against the door. She had her arms on either side of me so there was no way out. The look on her face was sinister, angry, confused. Her eyes were so dark it kind of scared me.
"I'm not your babe." Her voice came out dark and still angry. I just sort of smiled and said
"I know." I turned the door knob and went into the apartment. Avery stood there for a second in the doorway before she walked in. I turned on the lights and went to the kitchen to get her some water. I walked into the living room area to see Avery sitting down on the couch with her hands in her head. I sat down on the coffee table in front of her and looked at her.
"Avery are you okay?"
"No. I'm fucking pissed." She didn't scream it. She said it calmly and with her head still down. Terrifying.
"Avery what happened?"
"I got in a fight with Sara." She was slurring her words.
"What happened?"
"I fucking went off. I told her like so much fucking shit. Just to hurt her. I shouldn't have done that." She leaned back on the couch and looked up at the ceiling. She was kind of going in and out of it. Her eyes were staying closed longer than they were open. I stood up and said
"Avery get up."
"Fuck offff." She slurred.
"Come on." I pulled her up by her arms.
"Don't fuck with me. I'll tell Sara and she'll kick your ass." I rolled my eyes and helped her stumble to my room.
"Get on the bed."
"Nooo. Sara will be mad. I can't be in your bed. I have to be in her bed." She is shit faced.
"Avery just sit down." She glared at me but sat down on the bed.
"Fine." She sat down on the bed and crossed her arms. I walked over to my dresser and pulled out some shorts and a t-shirt for her to change in to. I threw them on the bed then kneeled down to take off her shoes.
"Hey! What the fuck are you doing." I dodged the kick to the face I almost got and said
"I'm just taking off your shoes. Geez chill out." I got her shoes off, mostly because she wasn't paying attention to me anymore. When I got her shoes off I stood up and gave her the shorts.
"Change into these." She just flicked me off and laid down on the bed. I rolled my eyes and started to get her jeans off.
"You can't take my clothes off! Only Sara can do that!" She was yelling at me and putting up a fight but I got them off. I went to grab the shorts, but when I turned back she was passed out on the bed. I've had enough of this. She's staying like that. I went into my bathroom and took off my makeup. When I finished washing my face and then went back into my room. Avery was out cold. I rolled my eyes a bit and walked over to my drawer. I pulled out some sweats and a t-shirt and put them on. Avery's clothes were everywhere so I folded them and put them on the chair in my room turned the lights off, then got in the bed with her.
I couldn't sleep. I kept wondering what the hell got into Avery. She always says that she doesn't really drink. And honestly, I've never actually seen her drink, so to see her this drunk is crazy. She and Sara must have gotten into one serious fight if it made her want to get drunk. Oh god. Sara. She already hates me. If she finds out she's here she's going to flip shit. I was still lying in bed when I needed to go to the bathroom. When I came out of the bathroom I stepped on a piece of clothing. I looked down and picked up whatever it was that was on the ground. I held it up and tried to figure out what it was since my eyes were still adjusting to the dark. I realized it was Avery's shirt so I folded it and put it on the chair with the rest of her things. I got back in bed and laid there. Avery mumbled a couple of things in her sleep but I couldn't make out what it was. I ignored her and finally fell asleep.
-----------------------------------
I woke up the next morning because I heard someone shuffling around. I sat up and tried to wake up more.
"Avery?" Oh shit.
"Avery?" Oh god what is she thinking. She wouldn't look at me or say anything. She just continued to put her clothes on.
"Avery say something." She stormed out of the room. I got out of the bed as fast as I could and ran towards her. I grabbed her arm and said
"Avery stop!"
"Don't fucking touch me!" Her voice came out angrier than I'd ever heard it. I let go and took a step back.
"Avery..."
"No! Don't say anything. Don't even try." I couldn't speak. She walked out the door and slammed it behind me. I already know what she's thinking. I have to tell her it didn't happen the way the thinks. I followed her out and stood outside my door. I called her a couple times but she wouldn't turn. I then saw her run into Alex. Oh, fucking hell. This looks so bad. I went back into my apartment and tried to think of what to do. Avery won't listen to a thing I have to say right now. I went into my room, sat on my bed and screamed into a pillow. This is so fucking bad.
