Chapter 4-2 - Battle On The Bridge

The Japanese forces have reached the bridge, they regroup along with the squad to prepare for the attack.

Viper 3-1: Friendlies ahead, watch your fire. That's the Rhinestone Squad, they gave the intel to us to find one of the terrorists we've been after.

Johann: You're just in time. The suspect we're after, Norton Lennox, is the one behind the bio-terror attack on Nabuka. He's hiding in his home fortress in that Facility Complex, that was purposed as a prison and rehabilitation. We've got to destroy those triple-A defenses, they'll hinder and wipe out our air and naval support.
Charlie team, get to the high platform of the bridge and provide cover fire. We're going to trap the enemy by boxing them in from both sides. D, we'll continue planting explosives on separate sides.
Daniel: Sounds fast enough, good for us.
Johann: Alpha team will attack and cut off enemy support from the west platform side, Bravo will be on the east platform side, while we plant explosives on those anti-air armor defenses that's under the bridge.
Viper Squad from JGSDF will draw enemy attention to them as they storm the front. We ready? Let's get to action. We got no time to lose, Lennox will try to escape if the fortress is going to be occupied or obliterated.

Two steel doors are opened. One goes to the left side platform, and the second to the right side platform. Viper Squad prepares to attack the enemy.

Kenji: Through here, sir.
Johann: Thank you, Major. Alpha team, on me.
Rineth: Daniel, here.
Daniel: Thanks, RR. Bravo team, we're taking this one. On me.

Viper Leader: All squads, focus fire and storm the front! Hit them everything you've got!

Daniel takes the left side. There are four anti-air armor defenses on each support column of the bridge.

He runs up the stairs and straight to the first column building. The enemy is on alert, defending the triple-A.

Daniel: I am going to use a flashbang, get down!

*pin pull*
*bouncing*

Corporate Soldier 1: Flashbang!

*flash explosion*
*grunting*
*distorted gunfire*

Daniel: Clear! Check those corners, make sure there's nothing left.
GP: Clear left.
Rineth: Clear right.
Daniel: Planting explosives.

Daniel planted the first remote explosive.

Daniel: Charges set. I am going to remote-detonate it, get out of the building.

Everyone leaves the first column. He pressed the detonation button.

*explosion*
*distant gunfire noises*

Daniel: First column is down. Proceeding to second column.

Continuing straight, he reached the second column.

Daniel: Jo, I'm at the second column. How's the progress there?
Johann (radio): Getting good as usual. First column second triple-A is destroyed also. We're at the east side second column.
Daniel: Copy that. Suppressing fire!

*gunfire*

Daniel, using his assault rifle, shot eleven enemies.

Daniel: Move forward, keep clearing as I plant the charges.

...

Daniel: Done.
*footsteps running*

Daniel has detonated the charges. The second column anti-air armor is reduced to scrap.

*explosion*

Daniel: Second column is destroyed, two more to go. Proceeding to third. Viper Squad, what's your condition?
Viper 2-1: We're still hitting the enemy, we are getting pinned down from here. Four of us got wounded, and will take time before we can make a move.
Daniel: Copy, hold out for a bit longer. Charlie team, do you have any first-aids?
Truck: We still have, some of them are unused.
Daniel: Get to Viper Squad. Have Ganymede and Fontaine to continue to provide covering fire.
Grinch: Yes, sir.
