Beep! Beep! Beep!

I slowly opened my eyes despite how heavy they felt. It looked like I was in a hospital room. The lights were so damn bright.

"Ryan? Ryan?"I heard Caroline's voice say. I looked to my left and there she stood.

"Hey." I croaked. She immediately grabbed me a cup of water. I drank the water greedily.

"How are you feeling?" She asked as she helped me sit up.

"Tired and in pain." I answered.

"Let me call the nurse to up your dosage of morphine." She said as she went to get the nurse. They came back and the nurse checked my vitals before increasing my morphine dosage.

"W-what happened?" I asked.

"Do you remember anything?" Caroline asked me as she sat on the chair next to my bed.

"I remember the explosion but nothing after that." I remember Luca trying to get to me before I blacked out.

"You passed out after that and sustained a few fatal injuries but you're fine now. You're okay." She smiled.

The doctor came into my room with three interns.

"Hello Miss Montgomery. I'm Doctor Hawkins. How are you feeling?" Doctor Hawkins asked me.

"Not as bad as I expected actually." I chuckle and she smiles at me.

"Doctor Burke." She says as she hands over a tablet with my medical chart to whom I assume is Doctor Burke.

"Ryan Montgomery. 17 year old female. Three broken ribs, broken ankle, open leg fracture that would've resulted in amputating above the knee." The intern said.

"But that didn't happen because?" Dr Hawkins asked.

"Fast werewolf healing." Another intern answered.

"Patient went into Cardiac Tamponade upon arriving at the ER." Dr Burke continued.

"What's cardiac tamponade?" Caroline asked.

"That is when your heart compresses caused by fluid collecting in the sac surrounding the heart. This puts pressure on the heart and keeps it from filling properly. This could be fatal because of the dramatic drop in blood pressure to humans. Werewolves however heal much faster than humans do.

But due to the various damages that you had, it was preventing you from healing yourself. Dr Garcia how is a cardiac tamponade treated?" Dr Hawkins asked after explaining.

"A medical procedure called Pericardiocentesis. Using a needle and Catheter to drain the excess fluid." The youngest looking intern Dr Garcia answered.

"Do you have any questions?" Dr Hawkins.

"Uhh about my health right now? No. How is Luca? Luca Alvarez?" I asked.

"Are you his family?" Dr Hawkins asked me.

"Uh well uhmm I uh-"

"She's his mate so yeah." Caroline answered for me. My eyes widened a little and I blushed. With how ashy I am right now, maybe my blush might be noticeable. Damn I need lotion.

"Well then he sustained injuries more serious than yours but he is a fighter. He is currently recovering from surgery. You can see him once he is awake and you feel better." Dr Hawkins smiled at me before walking out.

"Uh wait! My parents. Veronica Daniels and Jack Daniels. Are they okay?" I asked.

"Yeah apart from a few broken bones. They survived that." She said before leaving.

"I need you to check on Luca for me."

"I already did. I also checked on your family and they are all recovering well." She answered.

"Did everyone make it?" I asked hopefully.

A sad smile was placed on her face, a lone tear fell from her eye before she shook her head.

"Roman and Sydney." She whispered as more tears began to fall down her face. I moved to make room for her on the bed and I just hugged her as we both mourned this loss.

"I can't wait to kick their asses!" Caroline growled.

"Oh we will! They'll regret ever messing with us. I'll make sure of it." I vowed.

"Oh wow your threats are getting better. I'm impressed." She complimented me.

"Thanks I've been working on it. The funny thing is when I met Jade she made fun of my threat." I said.

"First of all she's a freaking psychopath and secondly your threats are wack!" She laughed.

"Oh shut up!" I laughed.

"Ryan?" I heard Luca's voice. Caroline and I looked at the door and there he was sitting on wheelchair in the same hospital gown as me being pushed by Astrid.

"Luca? Are you okay? You should be resting." I told him as I sat up.

"We'll leave you two alone." Astrid said as her and Caroline left the room and then it was just Luca and I.

"I thought I lost you out there." He says as he holds my hand.

I stared at his beautiful hazel eyes and I noticed how he looked at me. Like I was the only girl in the world. Like I was the only one that mattered to him. He had so much adoration and care in his eyes. His beautiful hazel eyes.

It was in that moment that I realised my true feelings for Luca. Now now before you jump to conclusions, I don't love him. I don't believe we are at that stage yet. However I know I like him. I really like him. Not that shallow type but this goes way deeper. Its like he is slowly becoming part of me. Everyday I feel us becoming more in tune with each other. Everyday is slowly becoming unbearable when I'm not with him. Because everyday, I feel like I need him more.

Well damn. He's got me wrapped around his finger.

"I'm right here. I'm never gonna leave you." I declared and he looked a bit confused.

"Luca for so long I've been fighting this. Fighting us and what we have but now I know its inevitable. I simply can't run away from my soulmate. To be honest I don't want to. I don't want to run from you anymore." I said to him. He raised my hand and kissed it.

"It would be my honour caramello to be with you. You're right. Cause I'm tired of running, I'm tired of chasing after you. I think its time for me to catch you, Genesis." He whispered.

"Who the f is Genesis?"

"It's from a book on wattpad that got published. You won't get it." He smiled like a foolish five year old.

So this is who I'm stuck with for the rest of my life? I think I'm gonna have a major headache.

First of all! To anyone who has read Catching Genesis, did y'all catch my drift! I immediately thought of Constantine when writing that scene (idk why lol) so I just had add that reference. Shout out to @NikkiRead for inspiring me with her wonderful works.

P.S I'm a fan of Greys Anatomy so that hospital scene was inspired by Grey's. Dr Hawkins is secretly Miranda Bailey😂😂

Less than ten chapters left. We've been through a whole journey together. Let's end it with a bang!
