Blaire's POV

I had just finished getting ready for the funeral. The northern area of the pack land had been cleared to accommodate for the graveyard. The entire pack will attend to mourn their loved ones, Sebastian and their leaders, Alpha Landon and Luna Marisa.

All I ever wanted was for her to accept me. We never got along but that doesn't mean I hated her. Now she's gone and I'll never be able to make amends.

I was still healing from my various injuries the most serious being my head injury. I suffered from brain damage that caused a stroke and now my entire left side is slightly droopy making me limp. The stroke wasn't major but it was enough to cause damage.

I limped into the bedroom that Jax and I shared. He sat by the edge of the bed. He looked up as soon as I walked came out of the bathroom. A small sad smile graced his face.

"Are you ready?" He asked me. A simple question. A lone tear fell down my eye before others followed suit.

"No." I answered honestly, "I'm sad."

He immediately stood up almost losing balance because of his missing arm but he quickly regained it. He walked over to me and wrapped his remaining arm around me. I wrapped my good arm around him.

We both walked out of the room and out of the pack house. With another family, we drove out to the burial site. Many coffins lay beside open graves. At the far north lay Sebastian, Luna Marisa and Alpha Landon's coffins.

We walked out of the car with much difficulty to the far north. A little podium was set up for Jackson to give his speech. I saw Caroline and Ryder as they walked up to us. My sister came to me and hugged me tight.

She sobbed on my shoulder as I comforted her. When she saw Jax she ran into his arms and continued sobbing. Ryder gave me a brotherly hug.

"Are you ready?" He asked. Again that innocent question.

"Let's get the show on the road." I smiled trying to reassure him not to worry about me.

In a week, Jax and I will be crowned as leaders of the pack. As much as I hate the position of Luna, it is our duty and I have to put the interests of my pack before my own.

I spotted Ryan and the Lycans making their way here. She blended in with them quite well. On second thought she actually stood out in a way. Her features had definitely enhanced and she was more beautiful.

We all exchanged greetings with one another. Ryan walked up to me lastly.

"Blaire I-"

" We should've been better prepared and-"

"Stop it. This isn't anyone's fault. You fought for your life, your mate's life, your packs safety and you fought to protect millions of people. They had terrorised us for too long. We fought and we won." She cut me off. She held me and her eyes misted slightly. I felt a sense of calmness envelope me.

"You are strong, you are powerful and you are loved. Don't ever forget that." She said. We embraced each other.

I felt Jax hand on my lower back signaling that it was time to start the ceremony. With a heavy heart I walked onto the podium with my mate.

"Today we mourn the death of our loved ones.-"

*****************

The ceremony had ended and the graves had been lowered. Many of the people left but a few remained.

"Blaire!" I heard a young voice call out to me. I turned and saw Arabella running in my direction.

I would not be able to catch her. I couldn't do it. Luca must have noticed my inner turmoil because he caught her before she could jump in my arms.
