Roxanne - The Police

-Lily POV-

When I woke up the day I was supposed to meet James (and any other Marauders who would come) I immediately stopped myself from thinking anything foolish like this is going to be fun! or, I cant wait to see James! and just jumped out of bed.

I checked the clock; 9:45 am. Marlene was still on the floor sleeping; I'll wake her up when they come. They should be here any second. I look in the mirror. I'm wearing some nice, light jeans, with a Beatles top. Not too shabby, Lily.

I walk downstairs, and see my parents sitting in the kitchen. Petunia was probably still in her bedroom.

I just about have a heart attack; my parents! I completely forgot to tell my parents!

Just put on your best pleading face, Lily, it'll be fine. I check the clock again. 9:53am. Stop thinking, Lily! Get to it!

I race into the kitchen. "Morning, mum. How are you, dad?" I asked, trying to hide the nerves. Don't know how they'll react to a couple of strangers in their house. Or the fact that you're going to a movie with them.

"Wow Lils! You're actually up and at 'em! It's only like, 10! Must be a record for you," my dad chirped.

"Must be." Mum agreed with a smile. "And you're dressed quite nice. What's the occasion, dear?"

"Well... um... I invited some people over... and I forgot to tell you..." I say nervously.

Both mum and dad raised an eyebrow. "Well, who are they?" Dad asked.

"When are they coming over?" Mum questioned.

"Well, it's just a few kids from school. I invited 4, but I don't how many will come. And of course, Marlene. Alice and Mary couldn't make it. We'll just go up to my room for like, 10 minutes, then we're going to a movie," I said.

"I don't know, Lily. When are they coming?" Mum asked again.

"Um... they should be here at... 10? Today." I cringed, waiting for it.

"What? And you didn't think to tell us until now!" My dad said, probably worried that they were boys. Mum had her eyebrows furrowed.

"Well I suppose it's not so bad. We get to meet more of Lily's friends," Mum said.

"Well... speaking of which... it's 9:59 so... bye!" I made a run for it, through the kitchen and out the front door. They should be somewhere out on the street. I look behind me to see if my parents had followed. They were watching me from the kitchen window. All of sudden there were two loud sounds.

CRACK. CRACK.

I ran headfirst into one of the people who had apparated. I fell on my butt.

"Woah there, Lils. Watch where you're going," I heard Sirius's cocky voice as he gave me a hand and a smirk.

"Hey! I was supposed to help her up!" James yelled. I have to admit, sort of cute, but that's the only thing I'm admitting.

"Hey guys. Didn't think Remus was coming without Mary, what about Peter?" I asked.

"What, no hugs?" James asked.

"No hugs." I said. I was smirking this time.

"Where's Marlene?" Sirius asked, trying to sound innocent.

"She's still asleep on my floor." I answered. "Look... guys. I forgot to tell my parents that you were coming. I just told them, like, 5 minutes ago, and they were... a little upset. So make a good first impression please. Please."
