Jukebox Hero - Foreigner

-Lily POV-

I was glad that the whole gang was in Charms. Today the new Charms teacher-Professor Flitwick, I believe-just covered the normal first day information; expectations and all that.

Next I had Divination. Sure, Professor Trelawny was a bit loony, and I'm pretty sure most of the stuff we learn is inaccurate, but it would be fine because, as usual, Remus and Mary are in that same class. It was fun to tease the two about their feelings for each other. In Divination Trelawny just did some weird tea leaf reading thing that I paid no heed to.

I had Potions after that, that day. My all time favorite and best subject. Professor Slughorn went over the expectations as well, and talked about a few of the potions we would be brewing this year, like Draught of Living Death, Amortentia, and Felix Felicis. I have James, Marlene, and Sirius in that class.

After lunch, I had Herbology. Everyone hated the teacher for that class; Professor Fernsby. He always got worked up over nothing, and gave you detention on every little misstep. "Mr. Fierro, it seems you are breathing, DETENTION!" Professor Fernsby went over the expectations thoroughly. In that class I had James and Alice, but I also had Frank, and neither of the lovebirds payed attention to me because they were so caught up in each other-so really I had only James.

Then I had History of Magic. Most everyone found this subject extremely boring, including me. For me, it's not that the actual information we are discussing is un-interesting, but more the way it is taught. Professor Binns teaches in such a monotone voice that it makes the subject automatically un-intriguing. I mean, somehow he makes it sound anticlimactic when he's speaking of people being burned at the stake! How can someone be capable of such a thing? I absolutely despise it when the only reason I dislike a subject is because of the teacher; teachers should get you into the lesson, try to make it to where you might actually enjoy learning, but it seems that some teachers have other ideas.

My next class was Defense Against the Dark Arts. The professor, Professor Abbott, was just one of those teachers you are indifferent to. They teach the subject well enough, but you don't like them enough to call them a fun teacher, or your favorite teacher.

Then I had Muggle Studies. I know, I know what you're thinking. You are a muggle, Lily! But I guess I just like to see the wizards's perspective on muggles. It's just fascinating to hear what wizards think of muggle things like electricity, or cars, or things like that. Sadly, I was all alone in that class.

Lastly, I had Transfiguration. The only one I knew in that class was James. McGonagall simply went over expectations, just like most other professors had that day.

So overall, it had been good. In almost all of my classes I knew at least a couple kids; except Muggle Studies.

So that's one day. Let's see what the rest bring.
