I Don't Care - Fall Out Boy

-Lily POV-

During lunch I sit there pouting like a toddler as Sirius retells the story of me wearing James's jersey loud enough for everyone in the Great Hall to hear.

"Honestly, as constipated as she looked, I would've thought-" Sirius continues, giggling.

"That's quite enough, Sirius!" I finally exclaim. "It wasn't even that funny, just-just an honest mistake..."

"I think she probably wore it on purpose, just to-" Marlene starts, sniggering.

"Oh hush, the both of you!" I scold. "And I most certainly did not!" I take a side glance at James, who has been mostly silent during this whole endeavor. "James, you've been uncharacteristically quiet this whole time! And frankly, it's quite frightening because I thought you'd be laughing it off with these wankers as well!"

A small smirk appeared on James's face at this, and after a minute, he speaks. "I'll admit, it is quite amusing the lengths you will go just to get a whiff of me. I mean, just ask next time, and feel free to come on up and smell-"

He stopped talking when I started smacking him, but his now full fledged smirk was present no matter. He laughed as I continued to elbow him.

"And, I must've forgotten to mention how stunning you looked wearing my clothes, perhaps you could try it more often?" James asked, giggling with Sirius.

"Perhaps," I reply certainly, without thinking. My eyes widen when I realize what I'd just said, and I feel my face get hot. I blink, and immediately try and correct myself. "I-um-I mean... in your dreams, Potter..."

James stares at me, and after a blink, that same smirk grows on his face.

"Did she just-" Sirius asks, looking from me to James.

"She did!" Marlene exclaims, mirroring Sirius's shocked yet amused expression.

"Um-" I start.

"Oh, Lils, whenever you want to, my closet is wide open and full of shirts you can wear," James comments.

"Oh, you-" I start, but end up just groaning to finish the sentence.

"Ah, sweet Lilyflower, you are whipped," Sirius declares. I start to protest, but he holds up his hand, and continues speaking. "Oh, but no more whipped than our sweet Prongs."

"I'm going to Potions early, because I don't particularly want to deal with my embarrassing moments right now," I tell them all, sighing. I stand up, grab my book bag, and blow a kiss in their direction, saying "Au revoir," as I do so.

As I turn around, I see James 'catch' the kiss in his hand and place it over his heart with a wink towards me. I roll my eyes, a smile tugging at my lips. Such a dork, I think, suppressing my grin.

As I stroll into the Potions classroom, I am immediately met by Professor Slughorn with his usual greeting.

"Ah, Lily! Coming to get an early start, I see," Slughorn comments.

"Yes," I reply. "What'll we be doing today?"

"Today is one of my favorite days! We will be brewing Amortentia," Slughorn answers. "I'm sure you know what that is?"

"Yes, I do. It's a powerful love potion, but it doesn't make you fall in love. Rather the scent of the potion mirrors multiple smells that you already do love, or are attracted to," I explain.

"As always, that is correct, Miss Evans," Slughorn says. I smile, and then walk over to my usual seat.

I sit down, and take out A Wrinkle In Time from by book bag and start to read.

And before I know it, more students are trailing in and taking their seats.

I spot Marlene strolling in, and talking with Slughorn. She glances at me. And then quickly glances also at the seat next to me-where she usually sits-, the desk behind me-where James and Sirius sit-, at Sirius who is next to her, and at James who had just walked in as well.

Marlene bolts over and sits down on the spot where James normally sits.

I turn to Marlene. "What are you sitting there for?" I ask. She shrugs.

Sirius raises an eyebrow as he saunters over and takes a seat in his spot next to Marlene. "Guess you just couldn't stay away," Sirius drawls. Marlene rolls her eyes, and gestures towards me, then towards James, and Sirius gets a dawning look on his face.

I raise an eyebrow.

James walks over, and looks at Marlene, giving her a confused look. He shrugs, and sits down by me, grinning. I begin to say hello to him, but Slughorn starts his lesson before I can.

"Alright, students. Today we will be brewing Amortentia! It's one of my favorite lessons, all the wonderful smells," Slughorn tells us all. He pauses. "Well, I won't spend all class blathering on. Page 185 will give you all the information needed. Please work with the person sharing your desk."-I meet eyes with James, but then turn back to Sluggy-"Well, pip pip! Start brewing!"

I look at James. "Uh... page 185, I guess."

"Oh, yeah," James replies, and we both grab our Advanced Potions book and turn to page 185.

"I'll get the ingredients, you set up the cauldron?" I ask.

"Sure," James chirps. I stand up and head over to the shelves, feeling James's eyes bore into the back of my head.

I grab some rose petals and powdered moonstone, but when I reach for the rose thorns, my hand collides with someone else's.

"Oh, sor-" I begin, but then see that it's Sev-Snape. "Sorry." I repeat, but in a bitter, clipped tone. I pick out rose thorns and immediately turn away before he can respond.

I collect the rest of the ingredients, and scowl present on my face. Snape is an arse.

I make my way back to James, and take a seat beside him, not noticing the frown still on my face.

"Uh, Lily? Are you okay?" James asks me, and I realize that I'm glaring at the desk. I blink, and look at him.

"Oh...oh, yeah. Sorry," I say. "I-I just ran into Snape, and, you know..."

"Did he do anything?" James asks, tensing up.

"No, no! Just puts me in a bad mood, y'know?" I answer.

"Believe me, I know," James replies. I chuckle awkwardly.

"Um... well..." I begin.

"...The potion," James finishes, as if just remembering.

I hear Sirius and Marlene giggling at us from behind, but I ignore them, and agree with James.

"Right... it says here to put one Ashwinder egg in first."
