Yue is incredibly excited, as she unpacks the boxes, in her new room for the next four years. She is moving into Zi Wei's off campus apartment with He Di. Zi Wei, who is in her final year, is now engaged to Kido, and has secretly moved into his place. He Di is technically supposed to be living with Kido, now that the Wangs have accepted him as their daughter's fiance, but it is all just a ruse, disguising the fact,that the young couples are living together.
He Di, who was gifted a car as his graduation present, drove them here to Shanghai, and he cannot wait to explore the city with his new ride, and his love. He will be majoring in Hospitality, he plans to expand his father's restaurant business some day, but is also heavily involved in the sports program, having been awarded a basketball scholarship for his talents on the court.
Yue will be attending the medical school, and has decided that the field she interested in pursuing, is pediatrics. She can't wait to begin classes, enamoured by some of the famed professors, who will be teaching some of her courses.
As she finishes unpacking the last box, she feels He Di wrapping his arms around her waist, from behind. He sniffs her hair and settles his head on her shoulder, nuzzling her neck.
"I can't believe we are finally living together Baby."
He licks her earlobe and suckles on it, causing Yue to squirm.
She turns around to face him, and ties her hands around his neck. She smiles at him lovingly, before giving him a long deep kiss.
"I can't believe it either, I feel so grown up." She giggles, happy and carefree.
He kisses her forehead.
"Now we can make love any time we want to, all over this place."
"If that's the case, then you might want to change the passcode, you know all about Zi Wei's timing."
They both laugh and he says,
"I still haven't forgiven her for interrupting what would have been our first real kiss, in the pool, 3 years ago!"
Yue snorts, deciding to tease him.
"So cocky, I wasn't going to kiss you that day."
"You know damn well you were!"
"I wasn't."
"Your lips were aching to taste mine, I saw it in your eyes!"
"I was just stretching my neck. My eyes are naturally appealing!"
"Just admit it Yue, you wanted to kiss me that day just as badly as I wanted it?"
"I have no idea what you are talking about?"
"You want to kiss me right now!"
She throws her head back and laughs. She looks so becoming in that moment, that He Di can't help but grab the back of her head and kiss her deeply. She moans softly and returns the kiss with equal passion. Things are becoming heated when,
"HELLO LOVERS YOUR JIE IS HERE. COME ON, STOP UNPACKING, KIDO'S IS GOING TO BE TREATING US TO LUNCH. LET'S GO!"
"Arrrrgh!"
He Di screams midkiss, causing Yue to laugh in his mouth.
"What did I tell you about Zi Wei's timing?" Chuckles Yue, when they pull apart.
"We are definitely going to need to change that passcode!"
They are eating Korean Barbecue, when He Di decides to have the "Talk" with his sister.
"Zi Wei, we are going to need to set some ground rules."
"Ground rules? Lol He Di, for what?"
She rolls her eyes and takes a bite of her pork belly.
"Yue and I are in a relationship." He Di presses on.
"Duh, I think I know that. Is this guy serious?"
"Yue and I are living together."
"Again this is not news to me, and yeah you are welcome, it's thanks to me and my genius idea!"
"So what do couples who have moved in together want to do?"
"Is this a trick question?"
"They want to have sex!" He continues, like she hasn't said anything.
"Dude, I think I already know that you and Yue are having sex. That ship has sailed."
"Zi Wei, my point is, you can't just barge in to the apartment anytime you feel like it!"
"What, why? It's my place!"
"No, it's where Yue and I live, so it's our place! Do you really want to walk in on us, naked, having sex in the hallway? Because sometimes, I might just have the urge to take her, right there and then! Do you want to see that?"
Zi Wei is silent, while Yue is blushing furiously. He Di continues.
"Would you like it if I walked in on you and Kido? Do you guys just keep it in the bedroom?"
"Okay, okay I get your point Didi!"
"Good!"
"See Baobei, I told you about this." Adds Kido, massaging her shoulder supportively.
"Really Kido? Are we doing this now? I said I get it!"
"Sorry Baobei."
There is an awkward silence as everyone absorbs the conversation. However its not long before Zi Wei clears her throat, raises her Soju glass and toasts,
"Congratulations to He Di, for being the type of man who will rock the boat, in order to protect his relationship with his beautiful Yue. I'm sorry I didn't respect your privacy. Old habits die hard, but you are right, you are building a life together, just like I am with Kido, and I just want you to know..." She pauses and leans towards He Di, putting her hand on his forearm, looking him directly in the eye, with a serious expression. "That you are now free to get your freak on like rabbits, on every single surface of that apartment!"
This causes everyone to laugh and He Di grabs his sister into a hug.
"Thanks Jie, I appreciate it. Ganbei!"
"Ganbei!" Everyone toasts cheerfully.
Later, Yue lies awake, hugging a sleeping He Di, stroking his back gently. She can't believe that this is now her reality, sleeping and waking up next to him everyday, sharing most of her meals with him, doing their laundry together and cooking together, whilst pursuing their dreams in higher learning. If you had told her this would be her life, three years ago, she would have laughed in your face. But now she can't imagine an existence without He Di in it. It's impossible!
She kisses the top of his head and whispers into the night,
"I love you so much Baby, and nothing is ever going to tear us apart."
