"What's the matter Jian?"
"Nothing!"
"Geez you don't have to snap at me. I'm just trying to be nice!"
"Well why are you trying to be nice Juan?"
"Because you look sad....is it because of Ai?"
Jian looks hurt at the mention of Ai's name, but quickly masks his face with a scowl.
"What do you know? Everything is fine with Ai!"
"Then how come she hasn't been around to visit us in over a month? She used to come all the time. What did you do to her?"
"Who said I did anything to her?"
"I know you Jian... you are annoying."
"Shut up Juan, you are only 11 years old! You know nothing!"
"Ooh and you are 16, so that makes you what? Some kind of genius?" She rolls her eyes at him.
"This is why I should have been an only child!"
"TAKE THAT BACK!"
"NO, WHY SHOULD I?"
He Di, coming from work, walks in to the house and hears this screaming match. He quickly runs to the living room and shouts.
"YOU TWO STOP IT RIGHT NOW!"
They fall silent immediately, and He Di breathes a sigh of relief. It's been a long day, and he really doesn't want to deal with two bickering kids. He looks at them sternly and says,
"Where's your mother?"
I dunno? Upstairs I guess." Says Jian sullenly.
"Why are you two fighting?"
"He started it." Says Juan. "I was just trying to be a good sister!"
"She won't stay out of my business!"
"Well Ai is my friend too, so it's also my business!"
"Ai is not your friend, she is my...my...she was my friend."
Jian suddenly looks lost, He Di notices this and puts his hand on his shoulder.
"Are you okay Tiger? What's wrong?"
"Ai...Ai doesn't want to be my friend anymore."
He burst into tears, alarming both He Di and Juan, the latter now feeling bad for their fight earlier.
"What happened Tiger?"
"I dunno...she's made new friends with these girls at school...and she just started spending less and less time with me...and now we barely even speak anymore."
"Oh man Tiger, I'm sorry to hear that." Says He Di.
"But I don't understand why? Does our friendship meaning nothing to her?"
