Night scene: Ice nation. Dining room.

The room was lit by a chandelier that gave a dim and unilluminating blaze that kept flickering every now and then. The curtains were prodigious and large and were a blend of turquoise and indigo. They were opened slightly to show the open window. The floor was covered in iced tiles that slightly reflected the light.
In the middle of the room a table, immense in size and it was plastered to the ground. It was pure glass and very long. It could of seated the whole kingdom and there was so much space. But an idiot decided to sit right next to me. I sat at the end, were normally the emperor would sit and Gray sat left to me. The seat right next to me not even a few seats away.

"I can't believe I'm being forced to go to this!" I moaned. My mother and father in law heard about Grays obnoxiously stupid idea of taking me to dinner in the private part of the palace which was specially reserved for important occasions; they forced me to come here. I didn't even want to be here. I hated the fact I was married to this imbecile, why couldn't anyone get from my display of emotion, that I loathed him. I hated his stupidity. I was disgusted at his attitude. But worse of all I hated his face. It reminded me too much of Ur. Imagine being married to someone whose like an aunt to you?
"Don't be upset. It's not that bad being on a date with the oh-so-awesome Gray!" He marvelled. He was arrogant and vain too. I wanted to get up and slap him across his face since that would shut him up. Or it would make him cry out and he'd mope all day.

I stared at the food before me on the delicate china plate. Smoked salmon and and grated lemon peel. As a drink we were served red wine in wine glasses. I picked up my knife and fork and started cutting it up.
"Don't you say your prayers to the great Mavis first?" He asked as the food was an inch from my mouth. I placed down my food and utensils and interlocked my fingers. How foolish of me to forget but I doubt the Great Mavis could help me out of this mess.
"Thank you, oh Great one, for providing us with food and helping us in our health. May you bless the food we eat. Amen." We both whispered in unison. I continued to cut up the food and place it in my mouth.
"So..." Gray said. Was he trying to make it more awkward than in already was. "What do you like to do in your free time?"
"I like to read." I answered. I knew he couldn't respond to that because I doubted he could even read a sentence without having trouble. I hid a smirk and waited for his response.
"That's nice. What's your favourite book then?"
Oh great. He wants to carry on the conversation. Does he not understand that I don't want to talk to him. I don't even want to be here. I looked at him to see if he was actually being genuine and serious and this wasn't for a laugh. I sighed when I saw his face.
"It doesn't matter. I have too many. What do you like to do?" I asked exasperated and annoyed that id asked that. I glanced over to him and saw a glint of happiness on his eyes and his lips twitched slowly into a smile. My heart accidentally skipped a beat but I dismissed the thought of wondering why.
"I like to go down into he City and meet new people in my kingdom. I also like to fight the strong ones and see if there..."
He looked back towards the door with his brow furrowed.
"Anyways. Why do you hate me so much?" He asked as he turned back to look at me. I wondered and thought that if I told him all of the things that made me hate him, it would probably destroy his self esteem. I didn't understand why he wanted to take me out. He could of just asked that he wanted a favour from me.
"Answer me this first. Why didn't you ask me?" I asked. He looked at me dumbfounded by the question. He shook his head in confusion, so I decided to explain. "The citizens will make me chose the next heir to this nation. If you asked..." I didn't continue. I didn't want to say yes because that would mean id have to stay with him longer but if I said no. I knew how much he loved this country but...

A scream tore through the air and the sound waves smashed into my ear causing me to topple over.
"Mom!" Gray yelled as he rushed out of the room.
A glass bottle that was broken came flying in through the open window and hit me right on the forehead and I blacked out.
