Convincing Mom, Dad and Cody to let me transfer lasted the whole semester break. I almost wrote a heartfelt letter expressing my intent. Mom was easy to convince. Si Dad naman ay pumayag nang sinabi ko na kapag matanggap ako ay sa loob ng university ako titira. He's paranoid of my safety. Cody was the hardest to talk to. He literally locked himself in his room when I mentioned that I wanted to study in the US. I feel guilty because I understand why he's like that... It's hard for him because I'll be far away.

In the end, nakumbinsi ko naman siya. I'm not even sure yet if I'll get accepted. But I hope I'll get in. Ang hirap mag-apply para sa transfer kaya manghihinayang talaga ako kung hindi ako matanggap.

Running errands to complete the requirements took months. I sacrificed a lot for it! Nagtampo si Pablo kasi hindi ako nakakadalo sa mga UASA games niya... Iain was acting like a kid every time I decline his invitations.

I was really busy. There was never a weekend when I'm not out. Lagi kong kasama si Jash para mag-asikaso. I'm just so thankful that he had connections. Dahil doon, napadali ang proseso ng ibang requirements. I also kept everything a secret. Ayaw ko kasing ma-pressure kapag nalaman pa ng iba.

"You'll watch? It's our last game this season," tanong ni Pablo.

It's Saturday and I originally planned on staying in kasi masyado akong pagod. Jash and I managed to apply before the deadline. Kung wala siguro siyang connections ay baka hindi kami nakaabot. It was really tiring but for sure worth it kapag nakuha kami. The department head of ChE was confident we'd get in. May mga seniors din kasi kami na nag-transfer sa CU last year. And the feedback on Chanston was good.

"Manunuod ako. Promise," I said. Kailangan kong bumawi sa kanya. I've been a useless best friend for a while now. Hindi ko na nga alam ano'ng update sa kanya at sa team niya ngayong season. I don't know if they made it to the semis or not.

"Good! Finally!"

"I'm sorry. Ang dami ko lang talagang ginagawa."

"Yeah, I get it. Basta manood ka mamaya."

"I will."

I dropped the call and decided to go out to buy a gift for him. I really feel guilty. Damn.

Tinawag ko si Kuya David para samahan ako papuntang mall. I'm not sure what to buy pero siguro basketball accessories na lang. 'Tsaka magta-takeout na lang ako ng pasta meal para sa kanya. Pablo's picky as hell when it comes to food. Ganoon siguro talaga kapag athlete.

"Samahan ko kayo sa loob, Ma'am?" Kuya David asked when we reached Festival.

"Hindi na, Kuya. Mabilis lang ako."

I don't plan on staying long anyway. Kailangan kong pumunta ng maaga sa Aquinas para naman masimulan ko ang game.

"Tawag ka Ma'am kung may ipapabitbit ka."

"Opo."

Pumasok ako sa isang sports shop. I looked for some accessories. I know damn well na may sponsor si Pablo para sa mga ganitong bagay pero s'yempre iba pa rin kapag binigay ko. I'm his best friend. He should appreciate my gifts more.

I got him compression tights, knee pads and a white bandana. Sana suotin niya 'yong bandana... He wins his games back in Cebu whenever he wears the things I got him. Ako yata ang swerte niya sa buhay.

When I paid for my purchase, sa restaurant naman ako dumiretso para makapag-order. It took me minutes before the food was prepared. Dinamihan ko na kasi sigurado akong hihingi rin iyong teammate niya na si Nick.
