I grab my key out of my bag and open the mahogany door. It is silent with no noise and the house is dimmed. I turn on the lights and slouch in a chair. I take out the little box Mom gave me and touch the shiny ribbon. She said that there were two inside. One for my brother and I. "Why would she give one to Cade? As if he cares," I start to think. I put the little box into the drawer and start to microwave some tater tots.

I sit at the dining room table imagining that my family was still here. Even Cade. I remember Mom and Dad laughing so much together. And when Cade and I were still friends. But now I am alone. And no body cares.

I put my plate in the sink and walk to bed. It takes me an hour to sleep even though I have barely slept for a month. and still I have nightmares. Nightmares of losing everything, which I have, so now it is basically a reoccurring memory.

When I wake up the sun is shining and the birds are chirping. The rays of sunshine glisten on the furniture making the thick dust appear as clear as day. I eat no breakfast today but instead head off to the park with my backpack.

When walking to the park, I hear a rumble in the sky; a helicopter. I fall into the grass and sit.

On a cloudy day in the middle of the Atlantic, Mom lied on the boat floor. She wouldn't move but instead was puking everywhere. And that's when the helicopter came and took us away.

I blink a few times and get back on my feet. I walk back to the house
