***That's how I am picturing Lizzie. And beware I will have some short chapters* **
"The name of the island they found me on is Lian Yu. It's Mandarin for purgatory. I've been stranded here for five years. I've dreamt of my rescue every cold black night since then. For five years, I have had only one thought, one goal, survive. Survive and one day return home. The island held many dangers. To live, I had to make myself more than what I was to forge myself into a weapon. I am returning, not the boy who was shipwrecked but the man who will bring justice to those who have poisoned my city... My name is Oliver Queen."
Oliver ran to the rocky beach with Lizzie. Elizabeth or Lizzie was only two when they were both stuck on the island. Lizzie's parents were on the boat and both died, but before that Oliver made a promise to watch and take care of her. And so far, he has lived up to that promise.
"Lizzie, come here," Oliver called to the now seven-year-old girl, she had dark brown hair with pale skin and icy blue eyes. She was small for her age but strong. She always wore her mother's locket and had a stuffed animal that was with her on the boat. Oliver picked up Lizzie and put her on his lap and wrapped her in the blanket that was around him.
"Yes, daddy," she whispered. She was also a selective mute. So far, she only spoke to Oliver.
"I'm going to call my mom, would you like to say hi?" he asked the little girl. She smiled and nodded. Oliver turned on the phone that the two fishermen who rescued them and dialed his mother's number, it rang for a few seconds.
"Hello? Hello? Who is this?" Moira's voice rang through the phone. A tear fell down Oliver's face and Lizzie wiped it away and gave a small smile.
"Mom, it's It's Oliver," Oliver said with a sniffle.
"My son has been dead for 5 years. Please don't call here again," Moira took a breath and you could hear the shakiness in her voice.
"Mom, mom, please just listen to my voice. It's Oliver. I did not die on the gambit. I'm alive. I'm ok," Oliver begged, he was trying to stay strong for his daughter.
"Oliver? Oliver, is that you?" Moira asked you could hear her starting to cry.
"Yeah, Mom, it's me. Just please don't hang up, ok?" Oliver was now crying and holding Lizzie close.
"Oh, no. No, no, no. I won't. Oh, my beautiful boy. Is--is your father a-alive?" Moira asked, wondering if her husband was alive.
"No. No. He--he and, um-- and Sara didn't make it," Oliver replied sadly.
"Oliver Sweetheart, I can't imagine what you've been through. W-where are you?" Moira said, her voice was shaking with happiness and sorrow.
"I--I'm not entirely sure, but I'm I'm--I'm on a boat. I love you, and And I'm coming home, ok?" Oliver said, he looked at Lizzie and smiled, he whispered, "you want to say hi now?" Lizzie nodded.
"Ohh! I love you! Oh, Oliver, I love you so much," Moira cried harder now at the good news.
"Mo-mom, I-I have a daughter. She was, um, she was Carrie and Leo Larson's daughter," Oliver said after a moment as they both cried. "She-she wants to say hi."
"Ohh, my beautiful boy, tell her I said hello," Moira said, unsure of what she is feeling.
"I will. Her-her name is Lizzie," Oliver said looking at her.
Time skip to when they are at the hospital in Starling City
"Twenty percent of his body's covered in scar tissue. Second degree burns on his back and arms. X- rays show at least 12 fractures that never properly healed," the doctor who examined Oliver told his mother.
"Has he said anything about what happened?" Moira asked, looking at the doctor, they were right outside Oliver's room. Lizzie wouldn't go anywhere without Oliver so they stayed in the same room.
"No. He's barely said anything. Moira, I 'd like you to prepare yourself. The Oliver you lost might not be the one they found," the doctor told Moira, she nodded and turned to the door and walked in.
"Oliver?" Moira asked while walking into the hospital room. Oliver was staring outside the window at the city. It was night. He slowly turned around and looked at his mother. Lizzie was asleep in the bed.
"Mom," he said, slowly. As if he didn't believe it was actually her.
"Oh. My beautiful boy," Moira said, starting to cry and walked up to her son and hugged him as if she wouldn't see him ever again.
