We walked on the sidewalk to a mechanic shop. I knew about the Bratva. I was next to papa as we entered in. There were two men in there working on a car. They spoke Russian to each other and I understood every word.
"We're looking for Alexi Leonov," I said to them and papa nodded, both of us had impassive faces on.
"There's no one here by that name," the one person who looked like the main guy told us, a little suspicious.
"Not in your garage," Papa walked forward a little bit. "He's in the basement beneath."
The second man came forward with a gun and aimed in at papa. Papa grabbed his wrist and twisted it, the man going to his knees. I took the gun out of his hand and took out the ammo.
"I'm Bratva," Papa told the first man pulled down his shirt revealing a tattoo.
"We want to see Alexi Leonov," I told them. The first man walked over to us and gave a small bow.
"Pleased to meet you," he said. Papa and I gave a small nod, acknowledging him. The man led us down some stairs to the basement. "I apologize. We meant no disrespect... to 2 captains. Particularly two American ones, and one is 7 years of age. So. How can I be of assistance?"
"I'm in the market for a hired gun. Someone the organization's used before. His calling card is a 7.62 millimeter round laced with curare," papa half lied.
"I know no man who uses such tools. But you can find out who does," papa told him.
"First, we will drink to each other's health. Then I will look into the identity of this man you seek," Alexi told papa, handing him a glass. I just watched, papa said I was too young to drink. And frankly I just don't want it. "I will also confirm that you are really Bratva captain. Should this no be the case, I will send my mechanic to find you and kill and your daughter and your family."
Papa looked to the mechanic with a slight glare. And we both left.
