~OVER 3500 YEARS AGO~
"Come back here!" "No! Catch me! Catch me!" A small boy giggled as his mother chased him. "Caught ya! Now it's bed time little one." "Awe mama, I'm not tired!" "Of course you're not." She said, as she carried the boy to his room, softly humming as she walked.
"Now get comfy and I'll sing you a lullaby." She said, as she sat the boy on the bed. The boy dove under the covers. "Ready mama!" The boy's mother smiled softly at him, and started to sing.
"Where the north wind meets the sea, there's a river full of memory. Sleep, my darling, safe and sound, for in this river all is found."
"In her waters, deep and true, lay the answers and a path for you. Dive down deep into her sound, but not too far or you'll be drowned."
"Yes, she will sing to those who'll hear, and in her song, all magic flows. But can you brave what you most fear? Can you face what the river knows?"
"Where the north wind meets the sea, there's a mother full of memory. Come, my darling, homeward bound, when all is lost, then all is found."
A hand touch the ice holding a frozen knight. "Rest easy my child." the voice of the woman said. A guard entered the cave. "Stella, I'm sorry about your son." "You didn't know it would happen." Stella said, with a sad smile. "Captain! The queen has summoned you!" A second guard called. The captain took one last glance at Stella before walking out of the cave.
Stella's eyes glowed an icey blue. "Until, the time is safe again for dragons, you, my son, will stay safe in the ice." As she spoke, magic filled the air. She walked over to a chest and opened it. She took the snowflake hair clip from her hair and placed it in. "Rest my child. Your father and I will wait."
Stella disappeared a few hours later, never to be seen again.
~Present day~
"Thanks again dude." Krylluk said. "Hey it's no big deal man." Wels said with a smile. Kry and Wels had been working on clearing rocks and dust from the cave that they had found Wels in, taking breaks when ever Wels' PTSD felt like coming back. "Woah. Wels! Look at this!" Kry said, point to a wall covered in weird symbols. "I know that's not galatic, any idea what language it is?" Wels' eyes widen. "That's my mom's homeland writing." "Can you read it?"
"Where the north wind meets the sea, there's a river full of remembrance. Sleep, mine minion, safe and sound, for 'i this river all is found. 'i her waters, deep and true, lay the answers and a path for thou. Dive down deep into her sound, yet not too far or thou shall be drowned. Ay , she shall sing to those whom'll hark, and 'i her song, all magic flows. Yet may you hardy what thou most fear? may you brow what the river knows? where the north wind meets the sea, there's a mother full of remembrance. Join, mine minion, homeward bound, when all is lost, then all is found." Wels read. "What do you think it means?" "It's just a lullabye. My mom used to sing it to me all the time when I refused to go to bed." Wels said. Kry glance down.
"That is not a rock." He said. Wels looked at him in confusion. Kry knelt down and open a chest. "Woah." Wels' eyes widen. He walked over and grabbed the snowflake clip. "Wels?" "This was my mom's." "Woah." Wels fell to his knees. "You doing okay?" "I feel overwhelmed." "How about you head out? Don't want you panicing on me." Kry said helping Wels up. "See you later Kry." Wels mumbled.
That night Wels couldn't sleep, but not because of memories, but a voice. "Ah, ah, ah." The voice sang. Wels sat up in bed. "I can hear you but I won't." Wels sang, getting up out of bed, "Some look for trouble while others don't." Wels walked over to the wall, where pictures of his current family were, "There's a thousand reasons I should go about my day, and ignore your whispers which I wish would go away." "Ah, ah, ah." The voice sang, to which Wels rolled his eyes but sang back, "Oh, whoa."
